Rather take Gibson myself

Any particular reason, his stats aren't overly impressive compared to all the other links we've had.

We are not going to get Keane and this could be a good move for Leicester and the player. We need someone at the back that is mobile and good moving forward with the ball and Maguire looks promising. He seems very down to earth which is good.

Most importantly we need to move early like we did with Ndidi in January.Last summer we seemed to leave things until the last minute and go for players with no PL experience at inflated prices.Essentially we get 3 or 4 in early and have a decent pre -season.

Can we have both Maguire and Gibson lol?

Given that Maguire's contract is up next year and they've just been relegated, could we pick him up for £10m or so?

thought this was was kind of interesting

Not sure we can rely on stats for defenders in struggling teams too much. To some extent they will reflect that the players have had that much more to do.

going by them selling Snodgrass for around £10.5m; i think we could get him for something between £7-£10 mil, probably be the lower with add ons to make it to say £10mil, thats my view

I always wonder how much of it is the club acting slowly and how much of it is the potential signing dragging it out to see what other offers are around?

I do hope we can get the signings done quickly for a good preseason but I fear it won't be the case.

Everytime i've watched Gibson play which is probably about 10 times this season, he has looked average.

The only thing that's impressed me was his ability on the ball & being left footed .

But as far as tracking runners, positioning, being in the right place, winning duels, he's looked average. He's young and might improve, but his season has been overhyped for me.

Get Omar Colley. Knows Ndidi & is a tank.

Most of them played in struggling teams so it evens out the comparison. Obviously there are certain things like aerial duals and completed passes that are less about whether they are in a struggling team.

I've thought this myself. If there's any truth in Morgan going to Newcastle. We should look at bringing both Maguire n Gibson in.

Not a chance we go into the season with three fairly inexperienced top level centre backs and Huth. If Benny went and Morgan stayed I'd be more open to it, but unless someone wants to go I see absolutely no need to change two CB's now.

+1 Colley. I think we'll get Maguire and/or Mbodji (if Wes leaves, both).

Not sure where people get the idea we can and should be doing better. We signed the square root of **** all last summer when we were premier league champions and in the champions league, why are we suddenly a more attractive proposition?

He would be a great signing for us, he's a big lad and could potentially replace Huth. I'd personally rather him over Gibson and he will probably be cheaper. He's looked absolute quality in some games
