CosbehFox Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 Talking of the goal against QPR, a few months later we were away at Birmingham. Riyad puts him half through but he still has thirty yards to run. You know what he was going to do, no technique to it. Square the defender up, sprint pass him, wallop in the corner. Famously did the same about 13 months later at West Brom. This season he's actually far more rounded and since March, we've seen the lessons hes learnt from the CL and England combined with those raw attributes. His stats are comparable to Hazard and Coutinho despite long goalless spells.
Nugent Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 He is class. Not just his finishing, his touch, vision and footballing brain have all improved massively as well. It's great to have a player who so many other fans despise!
TheSomersetFox Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 Utter legend and my favorite City player of all time. Winner at WBA Great Escape year still my favorite goal of his, and possibly ever
Babylon Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 Well this thread is nice, hope nobody bids for him or everyone will be slagging him off again like last summer.
smr Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 I love watching his pace when he gets one of those slicing through balls or a ball over head to run onto.
AKCJ Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 One moment I always remember was Barnsley away. Scored an absolute peach. Perfect touch to take it past the defender (pretty sure he fell over trying to track back) and a lovely finish.
Captain... Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 What an incredible punt to take on a non league player, yeah it cost us a record amount for non-league player, but to see the raw potential in a non-league player and turn him into a premier league winner with a record breaking goal scoring streak, goals in the Champions League and European Championships for England. The amount of people claiming we had been ripped off in his first season and it was money down the drain is hilarious in hindsight, all credit to Pearson and Shakey and co for spotting him, spending the record fee on him, sticking by him when he had a poor start and a terrible haircut, and turning him into one of the best players in the country.

I honestly don't know how we'll ever replace him; his work rate, his pace, his clinical finishing - he's one of a kind! This is one of my favourite goals from him, the desire he shows to just bulldoze his way through that defender is amazing. His goal against Sunderland from Albrighton's cross a few weeks ago was also brilliant. Technically the goal that sealed the title that.
StanSP Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 i just love how much he trolls and rustles other fans, either with his goals, his antics, his nuisance-like abilities, or his celebrations. he can be a massive twat but he's OUR massive twat
Clever Fox Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 I love the fact that he knows he's not the most skillful of a player, and yet he pushed and pushed by working hard until he made the breakthrough, Then to work even harder to reach the top. That takes some amount of self-belief and should be a lesson to all young players who get a knock back in their careers. Vardy has found a way to get the best out of his abilities and good luck to him. Great credit to Walsh, Pearson, and Shakespear for spotting him and turning him into the player he is now.

One thing that is massively under appreciated is his touch, the way he, and Mahrez and Albrighton, can bring a long ball down and bring it instantly under control is just phenomenal and a level of technical skill not often seen from a Leicester player. I do wonder if they just spend hours at Belvoir drive with Kasper, Huth and Morgan punting balls at them to have a touch like that. On his day that touch, pace and his lethal finishing he is just unstoppable, even when it is not his day he is an absolute pest and a menace to any defence.
Ric Flair Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 I genuinely wouldn't trade him in for any other striker in the world. Reason being? No other one player is essential to the way we play. He is irreplaceable. He's a superstar and a horrible scruffy urchin to boot. I can't love the man enough.
Stadt Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 Everybody knows or has heard about local Vardy, somebody that's great at football but they're rough as **** and not knuckled down like they should have. In our case Vardy's always had the desire to improve and work hard and we're all the better for it
Tielemans63 Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 Credit to Steve Walsh and Big Nige. Walsh for spotting a talent that low down the pyramid (we were tracking him when he was at Stocksbridge and Halifax apparently) and Nige for persevering and believing in him when he wasn't cutting it. Amazing.
lcfcben76 Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 Avoiding already said and the very obvious, one that sticks out for me was around Feb time in the great escape season and we were really struggling and so was he. Can remember wondering whether he had it in him at prem level. Anyway, Everton away he was brought on and at the time I was baffled, he came on and assisted Nugent and Cambiasso's goals within the space of about 5 minutes and earnt us a point. Certainly shut me up and have had no complaints ever since
Danizen Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 "There's always one and it's always you!" I don't think I've ever witnessed a closer relationship between player and manager than the one between Vardy and Pearson. It took a lot of guts for Pearson to stick with him. 99% of managers would have binned him as soon as we signed Wood. His improvement over the past five years has been unbelievable. He seems to be driven to prove people wrong whether it's us writing him off after three months or other fans calling him a one season wonder after last season. Imagine if we spent the summer calling him shit and telling him to fvck off to FC Ibiza... he'd be up there with Messi and Ronaldo in the scoring charts .
AyewJoking Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 easily the best striker we've had in my lifetime, probably ever.

SystonFox Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 Unbelievable player. Other fans detest him. We love him. He's a record breaker, a title winner and a club legend. The Jamie Vardy Stand awaits, selling only WKD blue of course
VLC86 Posted 18 May 2017 Posted 18 May 2017 My favourite player of all time no question. Too many memories, first day of the season v Boro when he finally arrived. That West Brom goal, That Newcastle goal, Them United goals, Seville etc etc etc. Hero.
