Melbourne Fuchs Posted 29 May 2017 Posted 29 May 2017 This is what's engraved on the trophy in case anyone can't read it. "May, 2017 Presented by Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha to Marcin Wasilewski in acknowledgement of four years of outstanding service to Leicester City Football Club. An exemplary professional, a valued teammate and forever a friend of the club."
lgfualol Posted 29 May 2017 Author Posted 29 May 2017 Nice gesture from the club. It's great someone that has been here for 4 years gets such a send-off. Whereas clubs like Everton just text players who spend their entire careers with the club that they are being released. Also, I cannot compute Shakespeare in a suit.

mozartfox Posted 29 May 2017 Posted 29 May 2017 In addition to this trophy he has been taken on as a body-guard for Rudders.

The whole world smiles Posted 30 May 2017 Posted 30 May 2017 Nice touch from the club but makes it even more confusing that they treated Lloyd Dyer so shabbily after 7 years, 2 promotions, 265 games and 38 goals.

That's what he gets for not retiring here . In all seriousness, I agree 100%.

Dyer was a brilliant for us and i loved him...however....Dyer was offered a contract and a chance to play in the prem but he turned it down for more guaranteed football (which i can accept). Wasilewski was offered an extension, knowing he would rarely play, but accepted knowing his main role was behind the scenes with squad morale etc. He could have left for first team but didn't, took it and was a professional. I wonder which one of them thinks they made the right choice. Two different situations and not comparable.
LCCFox96 Posted 30 May 2017 Posted 30 May 2017 Touch of class from Vichai and Top once again. The words on the plaque speak volume of Wasilewski's contribution to the club and he is most deserving of them. Will be sad to not see his name on the squad list next season.
norwichfox Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 We need Ranieri back....but only to take Shakespeare to a decent Tailors.....

I remember after one match as he was walking off the pitch he caught a glimpse of one of our young disabled supporters clapping him. He stopped, altered his course and walked over to him. He gave him a hug then took his match shirt off and handed it to him. Very touching.
