UniFox21 Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 One of my favourite moments ever was big Was elbowing berahino in the great escape and not being sent off

Poznan34 Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Sad to see Wasyl leave. Always gave his all and became a cult hero.
Babylon Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Another one of the promotion team leaving and someone who was integral to the spirit behind the scenes.
dannythefox Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Brilliant professional wish he was 8 yrs younger. Been brilliant. Wish him all the best.

ithuriel Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Hopefully he will come on the pitch before the game tomorrow so the crowd can bid him a fond farewell.

dannythefox Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Surly he trained today to maybe get 10mins tomorrow? Be nice to give him s send off.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 love him for staying, shows he clearly has some affection for the club with it being so unlikely to get minutes this year. a good servant who will be fondly remembered for being one ruthless bastard
Wymsey Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Has show strong loyalty, knowing he'd be unable to play many games, and supporting other members of the squad. Will be missed for sure. But hopefully he'll be the only 'big' name to leave the club.
foxoffderby Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Good luck big man enjoyed watching you play. Seems like a good character off the pitch too.
The Fox Covert Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Sad to see the big man go. He's finished as a player at the top level but I have thought for a long time that off the pitch he is a very different person from the aggressive and dominant character on the pitch. Now having seen Boethius' comment for the first time I am glad to see this confirmed. On 2/20/2017 at 14:45, Boethius said: Although I often browse this forum, this is the first time that I have felt driven to comment. Knowing Mr Wasilewski as I do, I can assure those putting him down that there is a big difference between the perceived 'player' and the 'man'. On the pitch his speed has obviously faltered, he will be the first to admit this. However, it is sometimes too easy to concentrate on his occasional rash act and ignore his footballing ability. As a central defender his vision of how the game should be played is, in my opinion, very positive. Away from the pitch it is all too easy to envisage him as a 'thuggish' dictator, but this is far, far from the truth. Yes, he can be hard when he needs to be. Very hard indeed. But of all the current players he is the one whom gives the most encouragement and support to the younger and newer members of the squad. I can assure all who read this forum that the current predicament of the club is hurting him as much as it is us, and that he really will give everything he can to help improve the situation. Unfortunately I have my doubts whether this is true of every member of the squad and coaching team. Please try to remember that our perception of people does not always mirror the truth. Mr Wasilewski is a true gentleman, always happy to take time to help others, and has the success of the club at heart. We will need a few additions to the coaching staff this summer and it would have been nice to see him pass on his knowledge of the dark arts of defending to the likes of Chilwell and Elliott Moore. Legend. Do zobaczenia!
Danizen Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 What a guy. He will go down as a cult hero. I tried to find a picture of the Wasilewski/Vaughan incident from our promotion season but there isn't one. I found this one though, from the immediate aftermath. He looks like he wants to scrap Wasyl. Lynch probably saved his life by holding him back.
UPinCarolina Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 I hope we give him a proper sendoff tomorrow - victory, standing ovation at the KP, finishes the match on pitch.
weller54 Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Bring him on for a farewell appearance when we're 6-0 up!
Alf Bentley Posted 20 May 2017 Posted 20 May 2017 Certainly great praise from Shakespeare: "Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare said: “Marcin’s been an absolute pleasure to work with over the last four years. The influence he has had and the contribution he has made goes beyond what people see on the pitch. He’s one of the best professionals I’ve ever worked with. I remember when we signed Marcin – we knew we were getting a very experienced, international footballer with a lot of quality. But we also got an outstanding character, a leader and someone who would make everyone around him better with his relentlessly high standards every day". And from Top.... "“It takes a special kind of person to win the respect of everybody he meets – both through the quality of his work and his qualities as a man. Marcin is one of those people. There will always be a warm welcome for him at Leicester City.” Those tributes are stronger and more heart-felt than the usual. [Quotes from official LCFC site]
