This deal has been "done" about 10 different times, I'll believe when I see him holding up a Leicester shirt (whilst wearing one).

Leicester confident £25m deal for Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is close to completion

  • Leicester believe £25m deal for Kelechi Iheanacho is as good as done
  • The 20-year-old striker is expected to move when Foxes return to the UK
  • Personal terms and fee with Manchester City have been agreed between clubs

Leicester City are confident that a £25m deal for Kelechi Iheanacho is as good as done, with only the formalities left to tie up.

The Foxes progressed to the final of the Premier League’s Asia trophy thanks to a 7-6 penalty shootout victory over West Bromwich Albion in Hong Kong last night.

And Iheanacho, 20, is expected to complete his move from Manchester City when they return to the UK following Sunday’s final against Liverpool.

Sportsmail understands that a fee and personal terms have been agreed, with ‘minor issues’ left to resolve.

Looks promising but again it is a tabloid stating pretty much what has been claimed for some time and stating the plainly obvious. Looks to also be a bit of copy and pasting as if  they were really in the know they would be aware the game against Liverpool is on  Saturday but maybe we are actually flying back Sunday. IMVHO it is a done deal and we are waiting for a suitable time to announce it. Would have thought unless having treatment anyone who is anyone at the club is in Hong Kong including senior management and the board so cannot see us announcing him surrounded by a few academy players and catering staff from the training ground. Not much point flying him out to Hong Kong to announce it then fly back so surely it makes more sense to announce and introduce a signing with management and new team mates about.

Maybe we've just spent weeks making football's most pointless and cringeworthy announcement video.

Great signing. Think this boy will score a shed load for us. Not happy with a buy back clause but as long as it's a hefty one it'll still be a good bit of business.

No it was a hamster on a swing.

There you go. Bloody Chinese whispers. Swing not string. Which is probably what half the posters here will do if we don't get this one over the line.

This buy back clause underminds the whole deal. That I suspect is what's dragging this out.

It's all been sorted.

That's not my point. The buy back underminds the deal because it's not a healthy situation for us or the player.

Only if the player agrees to a move back. They can't just come in and take him.

I don't think many people here even know how a buy back clause works. They will have the option to speak to him if they trigger the clause meaning we can't reject the fee from them if triggered. If he doesn't want to go he will not leave.

Surely, any buy back clause will be after a minimum of 2 seasons....

Agreed surely there is got to be a minimum period before the option kicks in .... if say he gets off to a flier and scores 10 goals

before Xmas and say Aguero gets crocked let's hope they can't buy him back next January.

Why do we need to wait until the team are back from Hong Kong to tie this up?

That must be absolute bullshit.

There's always a chance that it could fall through, so we're hardly like to wait a few days because we're in a friendly tournament.

Exactly didn't the Jakupovic deal get wrapped up while we were in Hong Kong anyway?

Apparently he is going to fly out to Hong Kong, and the deal will be done there.

Buy back clause is a shame but it'll only be a problem if a) he's a massive success here and b) Man City ever struggle with strikers on their books. Neither guaranteed and if he does go at least we'll have had a brilliant player for a period.
