Man City want to retain a buy back clause - according to reports . Suggested as £30 million ! 

Is this a thing now ? the buying club pays out £24 mill on a relatively untried player who could turn out to be rubbish and ultimately valueless but if he's good the seller just exercises the option to buy him back .

basically better than a loan deal then. If hes rubbish no loss. if hes good get him back.

 

This shouldn't be aloud to be honest as its only big clubs who will EVER benefit from it.

It certainly screws the smaller clubs over, especially if the player becomes the main star of the club then you have to lose him

It just takes one club - and that club is bound to be west ham - to agree to something like this and then it'll become standard. Another nail in modern football.

This is what happened with Real selling Morata to Juve, so they could just buy him back for 30 mil when they sold him for 20 mil.

Also there is probably nothing West ham can do. There are not a lot of strikers available as good as Iheanacho for 25 million

Very big in Spain. Off the top of my head, Real Madrid have done it over recent years with Marco Asencio, Alvaro Morata, Lucas Vasquez, Pedro Leon, Dani Carvajal.

 

Clever move, you get a transfer fee if they flop, and a developed player back at a lesser cost if they're good.

Clever move but then so is buying players ownership rights in South America. Both seem unethical though. The big sides will just become like Chelsea snap up every young player in sight and then do this kind of deal. It's a bit like release clauses IF it was true that Gray had 12m clause then we take all the risk playing a player when he's finding his feet/breaking through then as soon as he's ready a bigger side buys him ready made to hit the ground running. So much wrong with modern football then again makes us winning the league all the more impressive. rant over.
