Yes chains can exist, however.

Chelsea were not waiting to sell someone to bring in drinkwater, matic had already gone.

Silva's old club have not signed anyone to replace him so seems no chain there either.

So it looks to me either we deliberately delayed drinkwater to make chelsea pay more, or silva's old club did it to us which made the deal be a chaotic rush.

We not a poor club anymore either, we can afford to buy players without selling first, which we did last summer with musa and slimani.

This came down to excessive haggling not chains.

You are presuming a lot about our finances and how close we are to FFP or premier league wage limits. No matter what we have in the bank we are still governed by other rules, which could mean we are a bit limited in movement.

If both are done in time then it doesn't really matter, it was reported several times that we weren't letting him go without a replacement by good sources. It sounds like we're confident we ticked all the boxes so lets wait and see.

As for getting more money, they were still only at about £23m at the start of yesterday. Way below our valuation.... if by the the end of today, we get Silva for £22m and we ended up getting an extra £12m out of Chelsea, the club should be commended for getting the very best out of the deals.

So are we waiting on FIFA or the FA which one lol

It's all just nonsense, no reliable source pinning it down.

Either way, we were too late & now we've got to jump through hoops to fight our case

Don't forget the Portuguese window shuts in about 3 weeks, Spanish window tonight, the only party involved in this transaction that has an 11pm+2hr deadline is the Premier League and/or the English FA

According to Sporting statement, FIFA.

It's a official statement from Sporting to CMVM - it's the security exchange comission of Lisbon Stock Market - so no kidding there.

Nop, Portuguese window shut down last night, same as the English FA.

If true this means:

- FA didn't accept Adrien Silva transfer because it was to late.

Otherwise this didn't have to go to FIFA.

- Sporting did sent what was needed in time and want the money, Sporting don't want to get back after a contract has been signed and Sporting fulfil is part.

- Leicester City don't want to pay because Adrien Silva can't play until December.

Now Sporting went to FIFA because it wasn't is fault and the signing was done.

DEAL OR NO DEAL?

Leicester City are still waiting to hear from the FA and Premier League whether their attempts to sign Adrien Silvahave been successful.

We understand club officials are confident the paperwork was completed in time, and that all the necessary documentation was provided.

But the FA was unable to confirm in the early hours of this morning that everything was in order. They are still assessing it.

Leicester requested an additional two hour extension, beyond the 11pm deadline, to complete the £22m deal.

Silva is still in the Leicester area, waiting to hear whether his future lies in Leicester, or back with Sporting Lisbon.

Still in the Leicester area... bloody hell someone get him out of here as soon as possible before he looks around and tells FIFA to cancel the move.
