Chrysalis Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Yes chains can exist, however. Chelsea were not waiting to sell someone to bring in drinkwater, matic had already gone. Silva's old club have not signed anyone to replace him so seems no chain there either. So it looks to me either we deliberately delayed drinkwater to make chelsea pay more, or silva's old club did it to us which made the deal be a chaotic rush. We not a poor club anymore either, we can afford to buy players without selling first, which we did last summer with musa and slimani. This came down to excessive haggling not chains.
Chester Dontlie Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Come on Adrieeeeeeeeeen get in already

European transfers aren't quite as simple as English club to club transfers, there are extra parties involved, like the Portuguese FA for one, so it can take longer to confirm a transfer. Drinkwater to Chelsea, although conducted at the same time, only involved the English FA, with a notification email going to UEFA, it was a lot simpler process. Following on from that, we wouldn't be able to officially announce a signing until everyone involved has confirmed their acceptance of the deal. This sort of delay isn't at all out of the ordinary. Everyone chill! bringing calm and reason to this thread is not whats required - we need more unreasonable hysteria!!!

And the 30th March is more of that.

That statement have today's date -> 1st of september 2017. Other dates is about Sporting SAD accountabilities. Sporting, like FC Porto, Benfica and some other portuguese Clubs are in stock market [but the supporters own at least 51%] - Sporting SAD is the official corporation valued in stock market - players belong to Sporting SAD. If you offer me a place to stay, a couple of tickets to watch Leicester City in KP and a lot beer I can take holidays to teach you portuguese.
coalvillefox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 DEAL OR NO DEAL? Leicester City are still waiting to hear from the FA and Premier League whether their attempts to sign Adrien Silvahave been successful. We understand club officials are confident the paperwork was completed in time, and that all the necessary documentation was provided. But the FA was unable to confirm in the early hours of this morning that everything was in order. They are still assessing it. Leicester requested an additional two hour extension, beyond the 11pm deadline, to complete the £22m deal. Silva is still in the Leicester area, waiting to hear whether his future lies in Leicester, or back with Sporting Lisbon.

Chrysalis Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Wouldnt suprise me now if the current delay is us haggling with the FA the size of the bribe to push the deal through.

Steven Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 https://www.clubcall.com/leicester-city/fifa-to-decide-over-leicesters-27m-swoop-1861554.html Leicester City are awaiting FIFA approval over the transfer of Sporting Club midfielder Adrien Silva which was agreed late on Thursday. The Portuguese international was given permission to skip his national team's World Cup qualifying clash with Faroe Islands in order to travel to Leicester for a medical ahead of the hastily-arranged deal. Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare wanted a replacement for Danny Drinkwater after the Premier League winner made a £30million move to Chelsea. Adrien, 28, has been on City's radar for a while and has been 'signed' for a fee which could rise to £27million - if FIFA allows it to go through. It will depend on whether their transfer matching system validates City's belief that the papers were submitted before the 11pm deadline. Silva had been targeted by Leicester in the summer of 2016 and several bids were rejected, the final offer as high as £25million.
