Otherwise this didn't have to go to FIFA. - Sporting did sent what was needed in time and want the money, Sporting don't want to get back after a contract has been signed and Sporting fulfil is part. - Leicester City don't want to pay because Adrien Silva can't play until December. Now Sporting went to FIFA because it wasn't is fault and the signing was done. I don't think it does say that. Sporting are saying "we did our bit on time" that's all. Covering their arses. They're basically saying "if it goes tits up, it's not our fault"
Hitesh Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Confirmed: Fifa are waiting for their delivery of gold Rolex watches and a year's supply of Walkers Crisps to get the deal over the line.

Chelsea were not waiting to sell someone to bring in drinkwater, matic had already gone. Silva's old club have not signed anyone to replace him so seems no chain there either. So it looks to me either we deliberately delayed drinkwater to make chelsea pay more, or silva's old club did it to us which made the deal be a chaotic rush. We not a poor club anymore either, we can afford to buy players without selling first, which we did last summer with musa and slimani. This came down to excessive haggling not chains. I agree with your assessment of the situation. And if it does not get the desired ratification, and the deal falls through, then there are some really incompetent, and or negligent twats at LCFC.
SCP1906 Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 8 minutes ago, Abrasive fox said: That means they want to complete the transfer - as do Leicester, they just need international clearance. I do know better what Sporting statements means than most of you here, I believe. If Sporting said 'in their end the deal was done', means it's just needed a international clearance but also that Sporting wants the money/deal done, despite Adrien Silva can play in LCFC or not. Yet, as I said, it's the only pace/'twitter' reporting that, I think, so maybe Sporting didn't said that. 8 minutes ago, cc_star said: September 22nd is the Portuguese deadline day, according to Mirror & Express UEFA obviously has no set deadline because of the various different dates & times, FIFA the same So the only deadline potentially broken is the PL/FA Deadline in Portugal has ended. In Premier league was at 11pm, in Portugal 1 hour after that. Places stating other dates are wrong. Official deadline tranfers [signings] were realeased some minutes after midnight. the spanish cvnts transfer market ends today.

filbertway Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 43 minutes ago, Babylon said: I don't know if we did or didn't, but we should have made it clear to certain players they won't be in our plans and they should be looking for other clubs. Even if it means selling at below what we would value them at. Then we can bring in upgrades. Again it's easier said and done. Look I agree with everything you are saying, in an ideal world you're absolutely right. But it's not an ideal world and when other parties are involved you can't always do what you want to. It's difficult to plan for last minute bids and players chucking in transfer requests 4 days before the window closes. For the centre back, we've clearly been trying for a long long time. The ones you really want are probably harder to get, so you make your way down the list until one sticks. Dragovic is clearly a long way from being what we wanted, but we don't know how close we got on others. We could have thought we had players in the bad several times and been let down for one reason or another. Again, it's ideal world stuff. I agree in theory, putting it into practice not always as easy. If he's not, then the club rightly need to ask questions. Because DD really shouldn't have gone without being 100% sure. We were getting £15m bids from Chelsea for starters, no way we were letting him leave and then having to pay more for Silva (in Portugal they seem to think the price is more like £27m from what I saw). Until they got serious we couldn't. Again, I take your point about reaching a point and saying no deal... but if they come off then it doesn't matter. I think we are pretty much agreed by the sounds of it, you're just a lot more lenient on the club than I am I think. I'd just like for us to step out from the norm and do what's best for us, rather than using an excuse of "well most clubs do it this way, so you can't knock us". If you get it out into the media that there's an internal deadline for key squad players then I don't think anyone has a leg to stand on if they start whining after that deadline has been met. I feel like we were spoiled with Pearson, I had complete trust of the club while he was here. I find myself questioning if the club are performing as well as they can a hell of a lot more since he left. It could be to do with us being in the top division now and agents/foreign clubs playing a bigger part, as well as everything being reported on. I never once felt we were being shafted or unprofessional when Pearson was knocking about though. Anyway. I've been shopping, has he been announced yet?
jammie82uk Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 I would assume The move is completed and was done late last night, he club have sent him to rest so that the usual stuff of photos and video interviews could be done at some point today

Yeah but all these Sporting fans seem to think that their club is like the Bobby Axelrod of world football. Hard ass deal making super business men. They've got a chairman that's as tight as Levy, big deal. Christ.

Wrong The transfer deadline in Portugal is September 22nd https://www.fifatms.com/itms/worldwide-transfer-windows-calendar/ So the only party involved in the paperwork chain where 11pm+2hrs matters is either the Premier League or the English FA, that time is irrelevant to all other parties
