I don't think anybody is suggesting that. Merely that this signing improves us on the pitch and in the dressing room. There's plenty of room to be excited about it without thinking we're going to turn into Barcelona.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 It's only some Leicester supporters who I've seen say its a bad signing, everyone else seems to think this guy is a great signing for us

StanSP Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 can you imagine Bayern turning down Lewandowski because Blackburn were interested in him once

These sorts of signings I like. Someone in the transfer talk thread posted some of his stats and unsurprisingly he wins a ton of aerial duels, as well as being a good finisher. We smash the ball up field all the time, so with Ndidi and Iborra, I'd back us to win the 50/50 for flick-ons for Vardy. Not pretty but I can see it being effective. Also like Ndidi he can drop back when we need to see out a game to head out threats and make a challenge. Ndidi was brilliant at this in the Champions League matches for example. It may even free up Ndidi to become more dynamic as he was for Brugge in Europe and as he sometimes does for Nigeria. (They even tried him as an attacking midfielder, although the experiment didn't work out very well). If he was mobile he could play Okazaki's role, but no one can match Shinji's energy, as his runs are the reason why Vardy gets so much space in behind. But I think we might see him deployed like this on occasion as he will more times than not win the ball for us from a Kasper kick down field. Anyway, I agree with you in that he seems to be a very targeted signing from our scouting team. It's either that or an agent said he was available and the price was too good to pass up as Shakespeare waxed lyrical about Sevilla last year. All in all I think he's a good signing, if not the most exciting to hear about.

Izzy Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 He sure is a big tall fvcker ain't he! Stick him and Maguire up for corners = a few extra goals? Maybe we're going back to the MON days of being set piece specialists again

If he's better than King, then I'll be chuffed.

My TKD sensi used to say impact was power and speed... but much is middle is like a wrestling match... where size, weight, strength, agility all combine

dorsetboy Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 good signing , no question about his ability ! it will be interesting though to see the amount of passion he shows as there is an article where he said he has only moved to leicester for his family (money) and if it was for any other reason he would not have moved .

Wdywd Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 We could sign Modric and Kroos and King would still pop up with 10 starts next season, the man is invincible

Guest Col city fan Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Inler was rubbish when he joined us. He had been a super player but his legs had gone.

lcfcsnow Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Quote Iborra is not the subtlest of players -- as 111 yellow and eight red cards he received throughout his career show
