Let's hope Ibora is the answer because from what I have seen from Matty James his not.

We're only three games in man.

Mahrez also signed a contract 12 months ago....

I remember he looked incredibly miserable in his post-contract signing interview lol

(and that isn't just Riyad having a resting sad face, he clearly looks much happier this preseason than last)

I honestly think we are going to lose Drinkwater.

Last summer he knew he was staying - this window he thinks he's going hence the happier looking riyad !

We haven't moved on though, 7 or 8 of our starting 11 also played in that struggling team.

I don't know if he'll succeed or not. But others that we thought wouldn't did eventually, when the teamed learned what it took and got used in the right system.

Unfortunately he's been thrown in the deep end because of all the CM injuries. Nobodies ideal scenario was chucking him in with two very hard away games. Nobody thought he was going to be a starter straight away.

Think we should remember when he left the pitch at Arsenal we were winning 3-2 as well.

We havnt moved on since the great escape?

totally disagree

The players you talk about are now experienced premier league players, that have a won the league and b played in the Champions league.

look at the difference in Vardy, Kaspar etc from their debut season.

7 or 8? Of our starting 11 is not true

Four players from our current starting 11 this season.

Kaspar

wes

mahrez

vardy

2 bit part

Simpson 13 games from 38

albrighton 10 games 38

I think he's come to terms with staying now, as he looks just as happy as he was in preseason. I think he's just glad to have been able to put his desires out in the open. Time will tell but I'm expecting to see a happy Riyad here next week.

Thing is with Chelsea signing Drinky, is, when is he going to play?

Chelsea already have Fabregas, Bakayoko, and Kante. What games will he play, with a World Cup ahead? Will he really want to go?

Probably feels burnt out from playing with an injury perhaps he ill be happy for the rest and the big wages

Fair comment. That's a poor state of affairs, though!

So you've listed 6 players who played in a struggling team and missed out DD and Huth as well... that's 7/8 all here and playing regularly when not injured. The likes of King and Leo still getting game time, there's 10 people still around.

We finished 14th the first season and 12th last season (after being in relegation trouble again). One blip in between doesn't mean anything if you end up back where you started.

You say they got that experience, well he didn't have the chance to. Who is to say he can't move forward like they all did and like he started to do as the great escape started?

I have no idea if he'll make it as a starter, and never wanted him to be starting these game, but at the very least was always a better option than King.

If you actually look back over who scored to see what he offered defensively and offensively it wasnt a great deal, stats wise

1 goal 1 assist in 20 games and that was in a team that won 8 games out of 10 of the 20

Defensively

was averaging 1.6 tackles a game and 1.9 interceptions

in comparison to Cambiasso

who was offering more going forward and defensively

5 goals 1 assist

2.3 tackles and 2.1 interceptions a game

so when people say we hope he gets back to his best, is that the level where we want to be? top 6/8?

make your mind up you said 7 or 8 of our starting 11,  not of our squad.

I also said this season.

It makes your point more dramatic to twist the point

Errrm seven or eight of our (current) starting 11 played that season, I've been pretty consistent on that.

As for stats, shall we compare against the players still here for that season...

He's a useful player, he was better than a lot of our current options when at his best. Would I like better, yes I always want us to progress. But James at his best is still worthy of a squad place comfortably.

Which is my point

I said if dd goes, I hope he is replaced

and to have James from the bench not sure why you are bringing up stats of King or Drinkwater I'm not saying he wasn't the 2nd best option in 2015, I'm questioning if he should be now.

7 players

2 bit part

the majority have all improved with experience.

for you to say we havnt moved on implys the majority of the players here are still rated the same and ignore the fact that there values have sky rocketed in the time they have progressed

I'm not sure Ox going to Chelsea has any bearing on Drinky going there. Ox is more than likely an upgrade on Moses, no?

Not judging by his performance yesterday.
