What about him? He's injured and will struggle in a midfield 2 week in, week out. If he's been lined up for this all along then I'm very worried.

Did seem a 'luxury' purchase at the time. Before chelski's interest was revealed, James was being talked about as a mover to Derby or villa.  That soon went quiet. I fear we have prepared for this move for a while now and have just been stalling to force the price up and up. disappointing but ultimately inevitable if the player really wants it.

Hahahaha yeah because we would have to offer the full 40m in wages, their is absolutely no other option other than the full amount.

Give him that a week imho.

I just think if DD desperately wants to go and we're offered £40m then it's very tempting

Mahrez is more important to us than Drinkwater so I'd rather Mahrez stayed if there was a choice

Vardy is more important to us (certainly in terms of the way we play) than either Mahrez or Drinkwater so Vardy is the player I'd least like to lose right now

Of course I hope they all stay, Gray included. Not so fussed if Slimani, Musa, Mendy, Benny etc move on. I think they're more easily replaced.

At some point however, the rest of the title winning side will break up.

Unless we keep the lads together and get back into Europe. We might not be far away....

Chelsea can offer whatever they like but unless a replacement is lined up the Drinky deal won't get sanctioned by the owners

Good to hear.

I think it's the concern of who we line up as a replacement that's as worrying as him leaving Albert!

He really should be on the bench today - let's see if he has suffered a 'reaction' to training after his injury .............

I think its fairly obvious that unless Chelsea change their mind then he's going. This injury that he's had since the speculation started is a bit of a clue. All we can do is get the best price possible and hope his understudies are adequate.

Not at all. I think we're looking for a replacement. If we had one he'd be gone.

What was the point on spending £12m on a 29 year old if we can't trust him in his position?

If we sell him for  £35m our net spend will be £10-12m. That's nothing.

Really hope the club has a plan in place. Delph wouldn't be a bad signing for £12m.

Selling Drinkwater without replacement and giving Ulloa a new contract in the same week - the meltdown will be too much.

Maybe we wanted to have the option of playing three in the middle for tough away games.

Look at Arsenal, he wanted to go to three in the middle and bought Amartey on, that would have been Iborra if he was fit.

I don't recall him playing in a midfield 2 in years! Big gamble. You have to be very quick and mobile to play in a 4-4-2.

Well considering we haven't changed tactics this season have we really spent £12m on a 29 year old to be a cast iron substitute because that's all he can be if he's incapable of playing in a two man midfield.
