Are you actually a supporter, because what you've written is absolute bollux. We are not a top 6 club, and we do not have the available cash to compete with them and achieve FFP, it's simply not possible. However, what we can do is incrementally improve utilising the success that we have achieved. We will always have bigger clubs looking to snatch our better players, that's the way it's always been for clubs that produce or find gems. we just have to adapt by either increasing the productivity of our academy/U23s or manage our scouts to unearth more unknowns or lesser knowns at reasonable prices. Our exposure to sudden and extraordinary success has actually made this more difficult. But we'll cope, and adapt. It's not impossible for us to get sucked into relegation again, but we have improved our chances of maintaining a decent balance and compete in the Premiership as a mainstay, and pull off another surprise or two.

but with we have seen yesterday even with some mistakes ( mainly from CS ) I think with ibora and a new RB and with mahrez staying Leicester will compete for CL/EL place

I've said it before, I'll say it again, get rid. He's said he doesn't want to be here, the players and manager know he doesn't want to be here. We don't need this negativity in the dressing room. If we don't get rid now, we'll be having the same discussions on FT  in January, as we're having now. Agreed. If I were looking to recruit a more dynamic right back to give Mahrez support then obviously I would be looking for an upgrade on De Laet, who's capabilities were only up to the Championship.

Leicester should have spent 100-150 m to get at a different level znd compete for an CL of EL place like Everton but instead the owners are not interested to fo that znd keep pursuing the gains only do I think they will sell the  club within 2-3 years znd we will never witness a competitive Leicester on a top level only a team chasing relegation

Totally agree!!!  They guy was fantastic two seasons ago.  Last season did not look the same player.  In the Arsenal match carried on as he did last season.  City cannot afford to carry a luxury player who is not making the most of his ability.  Of course players have poor games but not an entire crap season.  He does not want to be at Leicester and should be sold abroad.  He can then be replaced by somebody who wants to be at City and will show that on the pitch.  I would rather watch a less talented player give 100 per cent than Mahrez making the minimum effort.  The guy is very well paid but is not giving value for money.

Mahrez has two options, either buckle down and earn his move in jan or next summer or the more likely scenario degrade to such a level he will waste his career.

We of course have no idea of who our owners really tried to get or how interested they were, personally I think they were and still are very interested. If we go back to that time and accept that perhaps that 50m then is about 70m now due to how the transfer prices have crazily shot up, can you think of a 50m valued player then or a 70m player now that would rush to come to Leicester?  Those sort of players will always at the moment choose a Man United or London club over us. We, despite our heroics were still not the attractive proposition you seem to think we were then or are now. Kante choosing to go to Chelsea tends to prove that point.

The bloke is on 100k a week and produces a performance such as the one last night.  But it's ok, we'd rather have a stroppy player playing at 40% of what he is capable of and he was a world beater two seasons ago, so it's all good.  All good.

Now time for Riyad to knuckle down - if I were Shakey or the owners I would be clear that it's £50m so he needs to get his head down and start working at his game and confidence, The only way a top club will be interested is if he is playing really well - I am one of his biggest fans but he is in danger of going backwards massively as he has been very badly advised and it has not only affected his focus but also he has lost his intensity which i believe is also draining his confidence.

 

I do not think it will take long before Shakey leaves him out as based upon last night he was nothing like his old self - I don't agree with those that suggest he was not trying or working but he was way below his best. 

 

Its sad really that such a talent has head his turned and he risks losing some City fans - I still believe the best way forward is for him to commit and have another great season for us to show it was not a one season wonder which would result in the big clubs coming in for him at a level the owners would accept......

Must admit I've been in the camp of holding out for the full 50m, but after last night's showing I think he just needs to go and try to recapture his form elsewhere. He was fantastic in 15/16, but doesn't look interested any more and the danger is that while he stays, we won't move on and Shakey will keep playing him regardless of form when better options are available.

 

I actually wondered whether Shakey kept him on to keep him in the shop window last night. Perhaps even told to do so. If so I think that backfired.

 

If Roma come in with another bid, sell.

Di Marzio: Roma set deadline of August 15 at midnight to reply to their third offer.  Leicester have yet to give Roma and official response.  Mahrez agent is trying to mediate between the 2 clubs by telling Roma to offer some more money in the form of bonuses to get the deal done.  Leicester have been holding out for 40m pounds for non-English clubs and 50m pounds for English clubs.

If he was World Class then we'd have more than Roma wanting him. Nobody wants him for £50mill because he ain't worth that.

You know people are really having it against the guy when they are calling him out for his lack of defensive "intensity". 

 

More than 3 and a half years in this club, since when he was a work horse? Since when he put a crushing tackle?

 

I can post at least 10 gifs of him doing some great defensive moves vs arsenal, 5 gifs of him having to put a 40-50 yard lung bursting runs to track back! And I can also put many gifs of Marc, simmo and fuchs just falling asleep on defence.

 

Before any triggered person here calls me out for being a fanboy, I gave him a 5 in the match ratings, I admit he had a disastrous first half and you can even say that thier 3rd goal was his fault!
