filbertway Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Don't see a problem with this myself. If nothing comes in he can fly to Zambia, if it does then he is able to fly wherever.
LCFCABC Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 We need to be realistic here. You can't blame him for making himself available if Man Utd for Barca come in for him. if he goes to either of these clubs then so be it. Arsenal or Roma would have been more that a kick in the teeth. He's shown his commitment in the last few weeks. I'd love him to stay but would be great to see him in a Barca shirt.

And if he gives his all he's 100% fine by me, but it's clear to me he does not give his all, the amount of times I saw him walking back to defend is very worrying, his body language looks shit to me. Happy for him to prove me wrong and give his all, but if he's that desperate to leave we should not be desperate to keep him.
STUHILL Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Bit surprised by this news if I'm honest. I thought such a big deal would have been in the works (publicly) a few days ago at least and there is still no club strongly linked with a new bid etc. Perhaps he is just chancing it in case there is a late bid? Does seems strange though, so maybe Arsenal or Chelsea etc have been in contact with his agent and are ready to pay the full asking price (£40m I guess). Gutted obviously, and I bloody hope we have 2 new players to come in. A winger and a ACM. That's what it will take to replace him IMO,
SheppyFox Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 What we will have hopefully done is lined up a sneaky replacement for him in anticipation for this rather predictable deadline day play. This soap opera was obvious to see coming
Blodge Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 If we lose him, we're in the shit. Gray has proven so far that he isn't ready to replace him. I don't want to see Mahrez leave unless we have an excellent replacement lined up, and knowing our recruitment team, I'm very much doubtful we do.
cityfanlee23 Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 I mean, the thing I find amazing is that clubs don't seem to rate him as highly as we do. £32m bid for Mahrez? we all know what he's capable of when he's on form, wonder why clubs don't think he's worth the 40m we are asking?

tickler28 Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Reeks of desperation on Mahrez's part sniffing around London begging anyone to buy him!! Sad that he feels that unhappy at Leicester that its come to this....will probably end up at Palace!!!

In today's market, he's worth thrice that.
somebum Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Shake's seems very much the 'we will be alright' type - probably the kind of persona that helped take pressure off during the genuine relegation threat last season but not when you only have a bayonet to face heavy German artillery fire

Probably because whenever we attacked with Mahrez we had about 2 people in their half, and I think he avoids passing to Okazaki because we always just lose the ball. That would get pretty tiring.

We're not desperate to force him to stay as a club, we'll let him get his move if a club meets our valuation. He's been amazing for Leicester and I don't begrudge him a chance on the European stage.

Guest Col city fan Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 It's all a little sad to be honest. Two of the best players I've ever seen in a City shirt (Kante and Mahrez) win the title with us, but then want out. I'm not surprised. We never looked like consolidating ourselves into becoming a consistently top rate side. But it's still a little sad. To not watch Mahrez anymore, to be replaced by the completely inconsistent Gray or, heaven forbid, Andros Townsend, is gutting.

The bloke doesn't want to be here AT ALL. **** Mahrez. Get rid. I'll miss him but he doesn't care about us anymore and isn't worth staying. Just get a signing in who will give blood, sweat and tears for the shirt and let's get behind them. We won't see another like Mahrez for a long time but it's pointless forcing him to be here. Townsend or Matty Phillips off the top of my head. FFS you want Mahrez gone and suggest Townsend and Matty Phillips as his replacement. Embarassing
