Foxes duo out of Arsenal opener

Arsenal v Leicester (Fri, 19:45 BST)

Posted at 13:26

News from Leicester now and the Foxes have some absentees as they prepare to travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal in the Premier League's first Friday start to a season.

Manager Craig Shakespeare says Danny Drinkwater "should be another week" with his groin problem and Vicente Iborra (groin strain) "will miss the Arsenal game.

"Kelechi Iheanacho has trained fully after his knock."

We HAve so many mediocre and now apparently injury prone midfielders.

Grewt at news that Huth could be back in a game or two though. Can't remember the last time we kept a clean sheet without him.

We've put out worse.

We put out worse in some games during 15/16, I don't get the fuss.

Most said after pre-season that we should start with James and N'Didi anyway. That team you put up is exactly what I'd pick and that's good enough to beat Arsenal with the injuries they have.

So James and Ndidi in midfield?

I can live with that but it's clearly not ideal.

TBF Shakey might have made that call with everyone being fit.

A great opportunity for Matty James to put a marker down.

Concerning as this is a game we could do with throwing 3 in the middle, seeing as the man behind Vardy will be asked to be a midfielders anyway with Vardy marking Elneny probably.

Would have been nice to have Iborra in there but King will have to do.

No chance Iheanacho will be starting with 10 minutes pre season football to his name.

It's gonna be Okazaki isn't it.

In a way I'm chuffed to bits because Matty is only about 5m on the old Fantasy Footie.

This should be the team but hes made a point about easing iheanacho into it... so i think it will be okazaki.

Okazaki will start instead of Ihenacho, but he will come on after 60 minutes. Andy King will come on at some point for James. TBH against Arsenal we probably need Okazaki's work rate anyway for the first 60.

Overall not a bad team, but with Arsenal playing 3-4-3 this season we might get overrun. I feel we need James to step up. I hope he can because I'd be delighted if comes back after his time out of the game with injury.

Disappointing but I was very much expecting James and Ndidi anyway.

The worry is if we lose one of those two.

I think we should consider to put mahrez as no.10, I'm unsure with james creativity and performance for competitive league.

by that we can accomodate gray as well.
