Leicester City will face Liverpool at King Power Stadium in Round 3 of the Carabao Cup.

- Leicester City welcome Liverpool to Filbert Way in Round 3 of the Carabao Cup
- City overcame Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last time around
- The Reds are eight-time winners of the League Cup, most recently in 2012
- A confirmed date, kick-off time and ticket sales information will be confirmed shortly

The Foxes, who have lifted the trophy three times, will welcome Jürgen Klopp’s Reds to Filbert Way during the week commencing Monday 18 September.

Craig Shakespeare’s men reached this stage of the competition after defeating Sky Bet Championship outfit Sheffield United at Bramall Lane earlier this week.

In 106 previous encounters between the two clubs, City have won 38 and drawn 24 while their last meeting came in the Premier League Asia Trophy in Hong Kong this summer.

The sides are scheduled to play in the Premier League the following weekend - also at King Power Stadium - on Saturday 23 September (5:30pm kick-off).

A confirmed date, kick-off time and ticket sales arrangements will be confirmed on LCFC.com.

Happy enough. Our team at Sheff Utd would beat the Liverpool 2nd/3rd team they will inevitably play given their Champions League jaunts this season.

Shit draw. We got Chelsea in the 3rd round last season and now bloody Liverpool.

We play Liverpool twice in 4 days.

Not a good tie imo. Wanted the easiest possible because I think we have a realistic chance of winning this cup. European football to the winner too. Bit of a shame to get Liverpool.

Id usually be proper annoyed at that draw but as mentioned above there is not a chance Liverpool are going to risk any big boys playing due to more important commitments.

If we approach seriously and want to win then I think we will have more than enough.

Weird how often that happens with cup draws, teams drawing the opposition they've got the weekend before or after.

Liverpool won't play it seriously. They're already in CL.

Main one that sticks in my mind is Portsmouth. What could possibly go wrong? :D

Could have been easier draw but on plus side I'd think there is a  fair   chance we will be picked as live match on TV ...Good news for us overseas supporters ???. That been said haven't seen the full draw so may be juicier matches for TV.

Meh! At least its a home game.

Would rather play Liverpool earlier than later in this competition, later it goes the more they will sniff a trophy.

As said. we have a balanced team we can put it out than can put away what they will throw out.

Not ideal but I'm used to us getting a tough draw early in the cups. Man Utd in an easy draw shocker.

Even if we do get to the final it will probably be played in China at 4am UK time.

We haven't drawn Liverpool...

We've drawn a Liverpool XI..

Such a devalued competition and the F A Cup isn't far behind in terms of importance these days...

Such a shame.

Somewhat mixed feelings about this draw.

I'm glad we can play them at home and if we should beat them, I think we'd have a decent chance of going places in the League Cup.

It's going to be a welcome challenge.

However, I don't think Liverpool are going to take this competition lightly now. Klopp will get his boys fired up for the visit to the King Power, I'm sure of that.

They took Hoffenheim apart in the Champions League qualifiers and I bet the Reds will want to take any chance available to win a trophy this season.

Clash of ambitions.

As everyone else has said, Klopp plays the academy in these games and that was before he had the CL.

We'll win comfortably if we don't **** about.
