Bad news for the Tigers off the pitch ?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/59809659

Seems like it's something that happened in the past.

Premiership Rugby are investigating allegations against Leicester regarding historical image rights payments.

The Times reports that the Premiership salary cap director is looking at links between Tigers and a now defunct company, Worldwide Image Management.

"The club is co-operating with Premiership Rugby," said a statement on the Tigers website.

Club officials have already met with Premiership representatives to discuss the claims.

"Leicester Tigers will make no further comment while the matter remains ongoing," the statement added.

This is interesting and a lot of talk that I'm seeing that they're bang to rights here and its a done deal. 50 pts deduction or instant relegation...

Would be ironic just as they've become good again.

The difference here is that this investigation is looking into an historic allegation with a company that’s no longer around and a Club that is entirely different from ownership, management to playing staff, where as Sarries case was covering a 3yr period of the existing ownership, management and playing staff, it would be very harsh to be treated in the same way.

I don’t think that argument will wash

when you buy a company you do your due diligence and you try to take legally binding assurances from the previous owners ref good conduct. You may even take out a insurance policy.

if we’re completely guilty then we can expect stiff sanctions - it could be something like 40 points which may mean we don’t get relegated and a fine of 2 - 3 million.  Very painful.

if there are grey areas then we could get away with one of the above rather than both.

I hear that but as I say would be very harsh to be treated in the same way and outcome as Sarries, which I don’t believe will happen, more likely a fine and move on if at all :fc:

Some absolutely dreadful refereeing. Tigers had their scrum on toast at the end. Should've been a yellow card and a penalty try, but in the end the ref just refused to referee the scrum. Allowing the wasps props to scrummage illegally whilst their knees were on the ground. Saying that, Tigers have had some close calls and they were going to lose a close one at some point.

Spot on, the ref had a shocker, definite penalty try at the end

Ford was poor today, the territory game just didn’t work second half.
