Can the Drinkwater transfer be cancelled on the premise that both deals were of paramount importance and key to each one being completed?

Oh yeah mate he would be starting V Chelsea but that injury has cropped up again.

All FIFA have to do is say they accept the appeal as a respect to their player and that we get some sort of fine. They save face and We get the player

Far too common sense a solution!

Sharpe says no appeal has gone in as yet whilst we assess our position !

This sounds concerning.

I think as others have said is that if the club had submitted on time, and have proof, I think we'd have heard from them by now. The radio silence tells me they are not sure they complied and haven't got any evidence they submitted on time. I think someone else has also said to get the evidence might require digging around FIFAs time stamps on their database. Which is probably unlikely to happen.

Basically we don't have a fooking clue what our appeal would actually be so we are just having lots of internal meetings to work it out.

I really hope the Owners bring in some of their businesses staff and lawyers to advise. I don't mean to be too harsh, but the club's staff are probably not the sharpest tools ever, and they might have limited a limited range of experience.

Well apparently, the FA are sympathetic. We were late getting the paperwork to the FA who send on to FIFA and the road to reason may lie more about the welfare of the player in terms of career and a World Cup year than haggling over 14 seconds.....

I also worry about the limited range of experience in some of our dealings. I do think paying a consultant TDD specialist a large sum of money for 24 hrs work may be a prudent future move!

Breaking! the appeal will take until January lol  then FIFA will say 'we agree you were right' (this is a joke for those pesky moderators, I am not trolling nor is this a real comment)

Well, not to sound like a obnoxious arse, but in any line of work, when a third party has to send you documents in order for you to receive and submit them in any given timeline, you have to take some mesures to get that job done in due time.

I am an international purchaser in the consumer electronics business; i often make procurements in overstock clearance deals that are regulated by a bidding system;

never missed to submit paper work, licensing certification and all before deadline, nor have i witnessed anyone failing to.

Reports say they got the paperwork done in minutes so I'm not sure what more they could have done. They received it later than expected, completed in minutes and sent it back before the deadline which is all in line with the rules set by FIFA.

FIFA being FIFA :(.

We'd better get used to the idea that he won't be in the team till January. Devastating news for the player, he did nothing wrong in all of this but is the one that is punished the most.

It doesn't sound concerning, it sounds bog standard protocol to me.

The club will want to fully appreciate where we stand legally and what our best course of action is before we take our next move. I'm sure lawyers are going through the finer details of laws and regulations so we fully understand our position whether we're obligated to buy Silva whatever the outcome or whether there are any grounds to appeal.

We're not going to make our next move half cocked and will wait until we're confident of all the other options.

Errrrr we will be the ones that witness Amartey and King in CM, who suffers most? Its not Silva.
