I'd hope some pressure from the Portuguese worried about their national team having a player suffer helps - perhaps Ronaldo says something on the subject. FIFA would not want to be opposite him.

Presumably we could loan him to sportimg until january to give him game time and not have him play for a second club this season?

One journo stating a lawyer has suggested we never included a clause where if international clearance wasn't approved then there was no deal, so he would be our player in limbo, if that is the case then what a shambles.

Do we not employ a legal team, or a legal expert working with the inept team that sorts transfers?

well - here we are again.... we have previously has cause to discuss the quality of our legals... the owners really need to look at the structure and the quality.  IMO too many foot ball clubs are staffed by people from footballing backgrounds... in some places we need other skills.  I bet the chef went to food college...

This club needs a shake up.

 I have read it is common practice to include this clause when signing overseas players, you can only assume it was a panic attack moment and it was an oversight. A shake up is an understatement.

Yes that's the impression I had - that they haggled over €200k and it took them dangerously close to the deadline (which by the time the paperwork went through, me missed)

No I don't think they asked for more, it's just the two sides took a long time (ultimately too long) to agree the price, with Leicester seemingly unwilling to go the extra €200k the Sporting chairman wanted. If correct then this extra €200k has cost us dearly!
