Andy King - 10 years since debut

Personally I think Andy King is the ‘model professional’. He’s not a Sanchez or Ronaldo we all know that. But you can’t fault his conduct, loyalty and everything else positive you’d want from a player. Fair play to him, he’s done us proud.

Deserves a statue somewhere.

It seems some would suggest chained to his ankles at the bottom of the sea :dunno:. He's been a stalwart for the club, I would like to think he will be given some sort of ambassadorial role within the club when he's no longer useful as a squad player for us. I hope he's given a testimonial.

Club legend. What a guy he is.

The fact he's proud to play for us and hasn't even thought about leaving, it's fantastic. Achieved it all with us.

When he first came onto the scene, scoring goals for fun in league 1 and some seasons in the championship, I genuinely thought he'd go on to become a Lampard for us.  In fact, I remember thinking "he'll be sold to Man Utd in a few years!"

He's done well to continue to be picked in the starting squad and it's nice to see a player who isn't a drama queen.  He just gets on with it.

Unfortunately though, the pressures of playing in the Premier League bring massive expectancy week in week out.  And more times than not, you can see he's not quite what we need all of the time - that's why he gets some stick.  It's things like getting to the ball last, not putting his foot in, constantly playing it backwards and sideways, and rarely looking up to play forward with any urgency.

Cracking ball to lead to Vardy's penalty last week though ... I need more of that.

It looked to me like he was instructed to play the diagonal forward ball last game. Unfortunately, the quality wasn't there and we subsequently lost the ball.

A goal and an assist in the game to cap our rise to the top. Couldn't have asked for more.

With the made in Leicester hoarding that's a fantastic photo - wouldn't mind a big canvas of that to hang up in my house.

That's the reason why it's my favourite as well. Just sums up everything about him.

Makes me laugh it's the same people slagging players like Kante and Drinkwater off for their lack of loyalty that refuse to acknowledge kingys fantastic service to the club and our constantly making disparaging comments about him.

You can't have it both ways.

Kante and Drinkwater are significantly more talented than King. King is still at Leicester because he is not wanted by clubs higher up than us.

I love King, great servant and generally a nice guy, I remember his first goal for the club (a screamer he scored against Southampton) but lets not pretend he is anymore loyal than Drinkwater is. I dont get how fans still get fooled by this loyalty nonsense.

Leicester legend. No doubt about it. Not one of our best ever players, but his overall contribution to Leicester city FC in the 21st century at least is unparalled compared to any other player and most of the managers!

so in 10 years at the club some of which he was one of the best players/top prospects in the championship he hasn't had offers? just of the top of my head I can remember strong rumors about Everton and WBA.

Anyway I wasn't really arguing he is more loyal than anyone else anyway just pointing out that fans are quick to question it when players leave and slow to acknowledge it when people stay.

Not sure how it is at all being disrespectful to King, by suggesting he is not at the level we need if we wish to be a top 8 club. Great servant, and happy to have him as a 4th/5th choice CM, if he is content with that, although can't help wonder how we are missing out on bedding a youngster like Harvey Barnes into the squad as our 4th/5th choice instead.
