Daniel Amartey has been named Captain for Ghana's 2 games this week - a World Cup Qualifier and a Friendly.  Presumably, he'll also play at Centre Back ?  Why does he never play there for us ?!

Ghana are 4 points behind Egypt with two games left. They will miss out on the World Cup next summer. It's been a pretty poor qualifying campaign for Ghana. I think Amartey is captain by default, not because he is captain material.

Just my opinion I think it's an option we could look at in the future especially away from home against the top sides.

I think you misunderstood me.   I agree with you.  I know a fair bit about Drago (living in Austria) and he used to playing in a back three.  I am looking forward to watching him tonight. 

 

What I meant was many people cannot understand out recruitment policy.

Not least of all the loanee players themselves!

Harry Kane could never understand why he came here on loan as a centre forward but was often played out wide, strange world innit!

When huth returns, Maguire will play right back and amartey will be third choice right back behind Simpson.

 

5th choice centre midfield but still ahead of jakupovic in the nets pecking order.

Okay thanks for the clarification I do agree with you. Our recruitment policy has certainly been debatable. Last season with the exception of ndidi the signings were dreadful. I just wonder if Shakespeare will ever play a different formation, I think if he doesn't he'll be out. So there's a part of me that hopes he sticks to 442 because I don't think shakey is the answer.
