Only at primary school, when everyone supported Man Utd (of course, at a school in Leicestershire, back in '98)... I saw the light pretty quickly after that.

Exactly the same as me except i'm not from Leicester - so my dad did the right thing and took me to see the Leicester/Boro cup final and i realised then i was a Fox. Heskey -> Cantona i guess lol

I swear it had to be in my blood as i have no idea to this day why back then and now Leicester get me going (that cup Final was hardly the best advertisment either!)

Ironically another couple of mates from Primary school ended up the same as me - started as United for like a little bit, but now ones a Sheff Weds fan (like his old man) - and anothers Plymouth Argyle

Yes ....my hometown club Nuneaton Borough back in the mid  60's.....will never forget a two nil win over Swansea in the 3rd round of the FA Cup....Southern League Premier Division Nuneaton beating The Swans who were I think in League 2 at the time ? Leicester took over in 1966 .....Easy to support both as usually played home games on different weekends and both wore blue and white so could wear same scarves and hats to both teams matches ?

Sorry, ......but hook line and sinker.  BVB..Dortmund.

Everything Leicester since a child have and will always takes no1 spot .

City, Tigers, Cricket.

But since late 60s, BVB I have followed, and like city, felt  hurt and joy of all their ups and downs with

all the given intrigues.

But it must be said, my blue and white blood, hurts and draws out  more illogical emotions than my Yellow and black ones.

The fans, their fight till they drop spirit over many seasons , meshed with some admirable skills, the Stadium atmospere,

with or without fans equals imo anything that blows through Anfield.

But a city loss somehow even in the bad days, even when in the middle of nowhere, seemed

to tear through all those deeply denied/pushed down emotions, more than any BVB or even Tigers losing moments....

I was a everton fan in the early 80's, in the gray, sharpe, Neville southall days, was only about 5, but fell In love with the kop, and city, once I could go on my own aged 10

Had a few over the years. Man united in the 90s then invariably Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. Even Arsenal. I saw the light in 2015 and realised I was a true blue. It was the foxes for me, my home team. For 12 months or so anyway. I'm a Man City/United fan now though.

Can't say I have but grew up north of Aberdeen after my parents moved there in the mid 70's. Transport not being as available in those days and lack of any TV coverage at all forced me into adopting a Scottish team as my 2nd team. Aberdeen would have been easiest but I absolutely loathed Alex Ferguson right from the start, a stance I hold to this day. I had no real affinity for Celtic and found a few of their supporters at school incredibly annoying so plumped for Rangers, not for any reason of glory hunting as they were shite in the early 80's with Aberdeen and Celtic the top two teams for most of my time at school. Been to Ibrox quite a number of times. Since leaving Scotland I barely even register their results so it was a marriage of convenience. City always came first though.

Used to have to wait outside the chippy to get the 'Green Final' results paper, which was the only way to get English results if you were out and about. Quite often, they were printed before the final whistle so they could be despatched around the north east of Scotland by the middle of the evening by van and 1-0 leads in the green final would often be draws or 1-2 defeats by the time you got the full time results in the Sunday papers :(.

Halcyon days indeed.

Not really.

But in the dim distant past, living as an impoverished student and it being uneconomical to keep dragging myself back to Leicester, I watched Swansea and Palace occasionally as they were both literally down the road. No real love for either.

Forest. Still got a photo of an 8 year old me with John McGovern and John O'Hare and the European Cup hidden somewhere. That's why my dad starting taking me down Filbert Street and after the glamour of my first game, a dire 1 nil home defeat against Oldham I think I was hooked.

Before going to my first city match when i was 7 i wanted a Leeds utd shirt. But my best friend at the time was an Indian lad and his family didnt believe in toilet paper so i guess i just needed something to wipe my ass with

A good mate of mine lived across the road from the Stevenage ground whilst I was living in St Albans. I'd go and see them so regularly that I bought a shirt and scarf. It was in 2011/2012 when they got to the League 1 play off semis and lost to a single goal in the 85th minute at Sheffield United. I went on the Stevenage equivalent of Foxes Travel all the way up there as well. Was genuinely gutted to see them lose.

I still keep an eye on their scores but it was nothing more than a dirty affair.

sad thread.

Answer is a most definite "no".

I remember being on holiday as a kid and a bloke my parents had got talking to tried to get me to wear a Coventry shirt to wind my dad up.

I knew where my loyalties lied though, and promptly ran away.

nah, I didn't even give a shit about any football until 2007 when my now parents-in-law took me down to City on boxing day. we won that day (a rare occurrence back then) and I've been a ST holder ever since.

it's been a crazy 10 years and I've seen it all in that time - a real roller coaster ride.

starting to feel like I could quite happily go back to not giving a shit about football again though. our club is farcical and so is the league tbh.

I think when I was about 6- I supported Leeds for about 2 weeks just to piss my dad off. No idea why. Thankfully he beat it out of me

Can I put a different slant on it?

I'm a long term Leicester resident but for my sins I am longer term Bury fan.

I started reading this board in the title year and got a bit caught up in it all. I was proper chuffed for you and all my City supporting mates and it would have been easy to jump on the bandwagon and cite my undying love for all things LCFC - especially as I've lived here way longer than I did up north and could thus qualify as a fan under 'residency'.

Sadly though, I just can't stop supporting the shite team I've followed since I was twelve. Despite a good few highly enjoyable trips to Filbo and The Walkers (or whatever the fook you call it now), for me it will never compare to a visit to the crumbling, antiquated shit heap that is Gigg Lane and a dire 0-0 draw against Scunthorpe.

So no, it should be impossible switch allegiance or even 'flirt' with another team. That said, for some reason I've felt a bizarre urge to go and watch Barwell at some point, because kak non-league teams don't really count.

I will however be down the Slug and Lettuce tonight and shouting pretty loudly for a City result, albeit with the sideline bet of a tenner on Craig Dawson to score first as he's from my home town and I know folk that know him.

My grandparents are from Swaffham so i do have a soft spot for Norwich City, but its nothing more than a soft spot. i look for their results on a saturday afternoon but couldn't tell you too much about the team these days

Whole family are Man Utd fans, supported them until i was about 9, then had my head turned by watching Leicester a few times at family night football at Filbert Street and my dad realising that i loved watching live football and knew it would be easier for me to support LCFC than Man Utd, so he brought me a shirt and never looked back since.

When I was a kid about 7-8 I used to support Sheffield Wednesday because my grandparents used to live in Sheffield and sometimes took me to a game and because my favorite player ever was playing for them: Chris Waddle
