Koke Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 50 minutes ago, The Bear said: As I said in the draw thread: They had loads of possession (64%) and plenty of half chances, but only created one really good chance for Aguero which you could say he should have probably scored from. Their fans moaned that we "parked the bus" which we didn't. We were just pinned back in our own half by their possession and the high pressing game they played to win the ball back off us quickly. But we soaked it all up by being organised in defence, and we ultimate had the best chances of the match and should have beaten them in normal time. Three clear one-on-ones with Bravo that we managed to fluff and really should have scored from. Their back line was frequently near the half way line or just behind, which we used to great effect to hit them with our pace on the break. We had a 19 year old lad up front (Enobakhare) who either tore Otamendi a new one a couple of times with pace or brushed him off with a bit of strength. Based on that I think you should play Vardy and Slimani up front. You'll need to defend resolutely, throw your bodies on the line and hope they don't have their clinical finishing boots on, which they didn't against us. Then hit them on the break against their high line. They are definitely beatable. Especially since you're at home as well. Pep will play a similar team as he did against us, because he just isn't ultimately that bothered about the competition. They'll be in Europe no matter what so he won't really care about winning it or not. You can see our chances against them here: Good post. This tie will also come in the middle of a busy December fixture list so we have a chance especially at home. I'm just fecking annoyed that we got them.
Harry - LCFC Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 Pleased we're at home. Atmosphere was surprisingly decent against Leeds and I expect us to top that in this tie. Team news on the night will be both interesting and important.

We'll win it by beating Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and then Bristol City in the final and everyone say what lucky bastards we were playing a Championship side in the final.
Sindidragon Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 No doubt WE are going to win this cup. Arsenal in the final. 3-2 Vardy winner
Koke Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 Just watched the Wolves highlights. Wolves missed some golden chances, a few one on ones.

SouthStandUpperTier Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 Hopefully we'll win. Then we can all look forward to Cliff Thorburn and Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards making the semi-final draw..............................eventually.

Chico1958 Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 This is ours for the taking And it'll be on the box
NewEnglandFox Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 if we're going to play Man City, at least we get to with the Mitre ball.

Sponsors want maximum tv exposure so the possibility of the 4 biggest clubs in the semis gets them that.

I believe you
Tuna Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 Ugh not a great draw, but definitely winnable when we're at our best. Don't think this will be Pep's priority either so he may play a weakened team.
