Surprised you still care?

After the league win and the champions league campaign I thought we completed football and would never reach those heights again. Therefore I wondered whether, subconciously, I would naturally care less about Leicester after seeing our fall and rise over the last 20 years.

But this season, when watching individual matches, I've cared just as much as any other season, and I'm so glad that is the case.

The Stoke game was the perfect example as it was (lets be honest) a game between two teams who will probably finish around 8th - 13th so the result is unlikely to have a massive bearing on relegation / European places. But was fuming when Mahrez didnt square it for Vardy to make it 2-0 before Stoke scored and throughout the match. The threads on here are as emotive as ever too.

Just curious to know if its the same for others on here.

I think we've all shared a kind of identity crisis since that season. Nobody really knew what they should expect from the club, and I mean nobody; fans, players, owners, media etc. Totally unchartered territory for everybody. The situation is  only just starting to stabilise now in my opinion and we can start to define our goals and develop some kind of identity.

I’ve been honest about being disillusioned with the club since the title win and to some degrees I still am but when it comes to match day I’m desperate for us to win and if we don’t it affects my whole weekend

I'm not as interested in everything else around the club and football in general but when it's match day there is nothing I need more than for the boys in blue to stick it in the back of the net.

After losing to Harlow in the FA CUP back in 1980, I am very surprised I still care...

I found it harder last season, I must admit. I was wrecked after the 18 months roller coaster of the great escape and then the euphoric title win. I know we had the Champions League which was amazing, if not a little surreal but I found myself almost needing a break from football. I am back in the mixer big time this season though, so the title win has finally sunk in and it's time for us to chase some more silverware.

You can't suddenly not support the City, it was hard to take last season with our p155 poor title defence, but what a European ride. I'm really looking forward to the future given that we've been treated to our lads actually playing football and being entertaining....and a Silva lining to our midfield in January.

I don't get these sort of comments at all. I still get excited for Saturday, I get up and we're at home or away (preferably away as I like away days better). It's what I've done for the past 15 years and it'll never change - Championship, Champions League or League One.

I think it is a bit difficult to come to terms with the past few seasons and the emotional rollercoaster it's been.

I still watch every game and I still get passionate about the team and performances.

But football in general I feel is getting less and less interesting.

It's likely due to a combination of over-saturation, over-exposure, the increasing lack of connect to the players and their lives, the exploitation of fans and short-termism but also my state of mind.

Even the decreasing common sense among the fanbase is off-putting. Fickleness has always been around, but I seem to remember there being less hyperbole reactions in the past.

I actually find myself feeling that I have to justify spending time on LCFC related matters, which isn't a good sign.

Then again, the experience of watching Leicester win the league will likely stay with me forever and it was an unbelievable feeling, which I am grateful to have had.

At this point, I can see myself getting over it and falling in love all over as much as I can myself getting completely disenfranchised and not follow the sport anymore.

I want Europe again! Give me three midweek days in the sun ASAP.

You can do that anyway :) You're welcome to stay over if you come by 'sunny' Copenhagen

It has crossed my mind on more than one occasion but it's not quite same as when you are with all your friends, family and plenty of others you bump into.

I think there was definitely a league winning hangover last season. The emotion and everything that went in to winning the league it really was just a fairytale; every time we played a team last season i couldn't help but flashback to the same fixtures from the previous season and it didn't mean a thing because it wasnt that season, it just didn't mean anything.

The Champions League was such a dream and a life experience I don't think we'll ever forget and no matter what anyone says, it did detract from the league last year.

This year however, it feels like we're back to normal, back on a level playing field and I think, we're not too far from having some more special times ahead whether it be in the cups or challenging for Europe. I think with the owners we have and their ambition, it will never be boring to be a Leicester fan.

This to a point is the same with me. The club are far and away what I fell in love with and continue to go down a route of alienating sections of the support, but come Saturday I want the win. I can however walk away from the 90 minutes and be back in the pub after a loss and not really care so much and not let it affect my Sunday.

Sums it up for me. Silverware is all I care about now on the pitch. League's done, we're never gonna win that again, but let's win some other stuff. If we don't, well who cares, at least we're enjoying the ride.

Of course you still care and think passionately about the club even though we've scaled the heights and are unlikely to repeat the success doesn't mean you should stop caring and do something else instead!. it's about sticking with your team through thick and thin, the good times and the bad times to get to the great and unbelievable times!. so we may never hit the heights again but you still want to watch and see what may happen now and in the future. saying you don't care now is a bit disrespectful to fans of clubs who never see success or improvement but watch their team week in, week out anyway!

I thought I would feel an emptiness. We completed football so what is there to get excited about now?

But when it comes to match day I still get that buzz, pre match pint, the walk to the ground, the players walking onto the pitch. You just cant beat it.

I just tell myself that I obviously still care because a defeat ruins my whole weekend, I'm grumpy, I don't bother with MOTD and avoid media/sports channels for the whole week lol

We have all followed our club for years. I don't think it will ever fully go away.

Well until we win the FA cup then we have completed football

Always cared always will. To be honest I frighten myself with the level of care. Logically it should not matter if my team that plays a sport I like to watch loses or wins .if we get relegated there will still be another season to go on supporting, and still playing football. But my emotional side says "b*llocks to that. Like others on here, I get the a*se every time we lose and it upsets my weekend. The thing is I am so emotionally involved with my club I have to accept that there is nothing I can do about it, and long may that last. I can't imagine my life without my beloved L.C.F.C.

It's been a roller coaster for me, I thought I would feel empty but i've been full of passion, I've got to admit i've been completely disillusioned by the club since the club win due to the decisions it's made from top to bottom, whether it be Ranieri' match day squad and odd subs, to Rudkin and his failures in the transfer market.

I've been so frustrated by our complete failure to grab the bull by the horns and really nail ourselves in that top 6-8 bracket, not just in terms of league table but as an entire organisation. Somehow by the grace of whatever god exists up there, we are still within touching distance, and I finally feel like we have a direction post the impossible.

I have something to look forward to again. We still have an opportunity to be a top 6 club consistently.

I know exactly what you mean Ric

i think a few of us (a healthy percentage) didn’t know even how to feel about things after the title win

Must say I have never stopped being desperate to see us win each game but that said last season was a bit strange? Maybe too much of a come down after the Title win? Not sure really

onwards and upwards now, really want to see steady progression and eventually Europe again and a cup win?

Please Please Please City the FA Cup :fc:

Cared too much last season. Shakespeare's football and the club ruining our big chance actually killed a lot of my enthusiasm over the last few months. I actually missed a couple of the games under Shakespeare because I just could not be arsed.

Feel better about it now Puel is in and we have some sort of vision.
