For all his years of service at City, are we approaching a time when Andy King may well consider his options ?

With Iborra and Ndidi a fixture in the middle, and with the impending arrival of Silva, King will face competition just to be on the bench from Choudary, Amartey and James.  If we consider possible returns and future involvement in the first team for Barnes and dare we consider Mendy, may Kingy just think the time is near to make a move ?

If we change to a mid-field 3 then we'll still need him as cover because James is now an unknown quantity in terms of injuries, Amarty is more cover for the RB/CB positions and Barnes is probably a season away from getting games and like Choudary is unproven at this level.

Of course if we add some more quality to our midfield then that may trigger something but you've got to convince someone to come and sit on the bench, not easy.

Don't think there's a chance he'll leave in January anyway.

I really hope not. Would love to see him awarded a testimonial and for him to see out his career with us.

Agree with this  part.

Absolutely no chance.

No idea why people are utterly desperate to get rid of him.

Who is 'utterly desperate' to get rid of him?

OP was only wondering if he was going to consider his options lol

Have posted many times on here the appreciation I have for King - he is, without doubt, a Leicester City legend.

But it's becoming clearer that he's reaching the end of his time as an option for us.

Iborra and Ndidi are settling in together, Silva will walk straight into the XI in January and with Claude committing to stars of the future like Hamza Choudhury, I don't see much of a future for Kingy except for cup games.

He may well be happy to stay 5th or 6th choice and not even make the bench but we can guarantee that we'll get a testimonial sooner rather than later.

maybe the january in 4.5 billion years after humanity has gone long extinct and the sun has turned in to a white dwarf and there's no more life and the algerians have finally stopped commenting on the leicester facebook page, he will leave, but not a moment sooner imho

Bizarre isn't it. I don't think there's a fanbase in the country that would be more unappreciative of somebody who has done for their club what Kingy has done for ours.

Utterly shameful.
Agreed. Saying he's surplus to requirements I can understand. The dismissive abuse is disappointing though.

Maybe that's not directed at my original post, but I haven't suggested any desperation for him to go, just merely asking a question as a point of debate.  I don't recall him ever being linked with a move, I just wonder if the time is now right, and wouldn't be surprised to see some interest from others in January.

Constant threads about him going, every "Transfer Window Thread" has people wishing he'd go etc etc.

Don't get it.

Clearly well liked around the club.

Clearly a club legend.

Clearly in no rush to leave.

Clearly won't kick up a stink if he doesn't play.

Clearly competent enough to fill in here and there.

Why the need to get rid?

Don't take it personally. It's directed more at the forum as a whole.

No, he likes it here and doesn't seen to mind being a bit-part player.

It's why we got Puel in.....to make it easier to get rid of Andy King asap. He's a legend but it's now time for him to go

I thought we got Puel in because Shakespeare wasn't much good as a manager.

Who would pay him what we do? He isn’t going to have any impact in a promotion chasing team in the championship and no use in a dog fight in the premier league
