Bizarre isn't it. I don't think there's a fanbase in the country that would be more unappreciative of somebody who has done for their club what Kingy has done for ours.

Utterly shameful.

This.

A confident King playing in a confident team, even if coming off the bench, is an asset, he’s played a lot of good games for us as well as the bad which to be fair a lot of our players have been like that. Now I’ll grant I’m not keen on him in a midfield 2 but then a lot of players were struggling! I hope he doesn’t leave in jan, still think he gives us options and is role outside of playing is invaluable.

I'm fine with him being here but I do question his own personal ambition. He's willing to be 5th choice midfielder at 28/29 at the peak of his career. Surely you would want to play football. I'm a bit meh about it all.

Disclaimer: I do not hate King nor do I want Puel to get rid of him.

Constant threads about him going, every "Transfer Window Thread" has people wishing he'd go etc etc.

Don't get it.

Clearly well liked around the club.

Clearly a club legend.

Clearly in no rush to leave.

Clearly won't kick up a stink if he doesn't play.

Clearly competent enough to fill in here and there.

Why the need to get rid?

im personally indifferent towards him. non plussed if he stays or goes. I value his contribution when we were in the championship but i certainly dont consider him a club legend.

There's certainly no need to 'get rid' but if we can get a better player in for him who can contribute more  to the team i'd  not be against that either.

I'd imagine the owners would think the same and i can imagine they'd also suggest that you be the one to pay his wages if you are so keen on him staying :D. Its the age of FFP afterall..

If Puel picks the likes of Hamza ahead of King, then i'm afraid he'll be left with no choice. I suspect he'll meet with Puel to see where in his plans he is, and if he is 5-6th choice he'll leave next season. Personally it will be a sad day to see King go.

I hope so . Whilst I am aware of how good he has  been in the 1st division and Championship and how he’s well liked at the club or a good pro and happy to sit on the bench or a club legend show respect blah blah blah . The fact of the matter is he just isn’t good enough for the premier league. It no coincidence that we started losing games by losing the midfield when he was in it , people were even questioning Ndidi when he was having  to do the work of two players . And it’s no coincidence that we started to control the midfield better and Ndidi looks good again since Iborra had come in from injury and King gone back on the bench. Since our return to the premier league I cannot remember one game where he has  played or came on as a sub and had an influence on a game . He has either done a job or gone missing .

So if you have aspirations of getting in the top six of the table are you really going to get there with players getting by  doing just a job . If you look at the big 6 are they happy having players that can just do a job or are their squad players legitimately pushing to start.  Something which I don’t believe King does for one minute . I could never imagine Ferguson or Jose keeping a player cause they can just do a job . If the club wants to be successfully it needs to be a bit more ruthless with some of the dead wood and that applies to more than just Andy King

I doubt he will leave... if he was going to do so he would have gone by now.  His loyalty is a rare thing these days.  He might nit be a tip top prem midfielder. .. but he had tirekessly done everyyhing we have asked of him. He deserves a medal

He's got 3....because he is The King.

In fairness Hamza is a little bit more defensive minded  and that probbaly aided his selection on the bench for a home game...

I love him for what he’s achieved here but unfortunately he’s not good enough to play for us in the PL. Brilliant squad player however and is a leader in the camp too.

It's better than your non-fact based opinion because he hasn't been in that league for 4 years.

King is a legend and his loyalty is to be admired.  I think he is invaluable to the club because of that.  Every club needs those players that are part of the clubs DNA.  King is one.  For that reason I would never want to see him sold against his will or forced out.  I would love to see him phased into a coaching role with the youth or something.  However.  The issue is he is still only 29.  Will he want to phase out his career in that way quite yet?

For me, he gets to stay as long as he wants.  But if he wants to leave, as much as I'd hate it, he goes with our blessing and support.  He is a club legend.

In an era where club loyalty is week and players jump where the money talks, players like King help keep a sense of Club identity and pride.

Really hope he stays as he's been here so long but it is up to him if he wants first team football at a lower level or whether he wants to stay here and get less and less game time until the end of his career. He has done amazing here with the number of appearances and for what he has won with us. He has been with us through thick and thin and maybe won't want to join another club for a few years when he could just sit back and live on the memories.

What is it with you fans always wanting to get rid of King?

Won League One

Won Championship

Won Premier League

All of that with the same club. He's the only player in the PL era to do that.

He's great in the dressing room, all the players like him and look up to him, and he's not as bad on the pitch as most posters here rant on.
