He carried on then dived though. Penalty and booking for Ndidi at best, but no ref will ever make that call, even though you can dive and still have been fouled.

He wasn't to blame at all, we were poor all game. Never got going. The only decision that really pissed me off was when we were on the front foot and Simpson nicked the ball off Benteke and he went down like a a sack of spuds. One of the few points in the game we had any momentum and he gave a free kick for what was a good tackle and we completely lost any kind off attacking pressure we'd built up. Was to easily sold by Bentekes theatrics.

Nobody can say Wilf didn't deserve a yellow for that pathetic attempt at trying to con the ref, because that was what it was, and I hope he learns his lesson. He's young he'll make mistakes. Whatever happened in the build up is irrelevant it was a blatant attempt to deceive the ref.

Iborra's push was a foul, the only frustration is that they are not always given, but nobody can argue with it if he doesn't push Tomkins he would have easily won the header.

Yes Wilf was naive, but still frustrating when the bigger names like De Breyne a few hours later get away with it. Iborra was only called a foul because it ended up in the net, anywhere else on the pitch, nothing given.

We lost because we put out the wrong team. Palace are a very physical side, we put out basically a team of too many non tacklers. Will give Puel benefit of doubt this time, but I still remain to be convinced - always suspicious of managers who don't believe players can play back to back games. Dropping / resting players in form is an alien concept to me, but I suppose I have to move with the times.

Palace had a game plan..to get in our faces, every tackle on Mahrez was a borderline foul...put the ref under pressure, go down and shout for everything ..Tompkins jumped about three feet in the air to get the Iborra decision...but they are fighting for their Premier league lives, why were we surprised... the writing was on the wall when Benteke clattered into Schmeichal and the ref failed to book him .

We were too lightweight and too naive..Steve Guppy and Muzzy Izzet could only do their stuff because they had Steve Walsh and Neil Lennon playing

alongside...we are missing Huth..lessons learnt ?

I still think Iborra's goal should have stood. There really wasn't much in that. You see those given week in, week out.

We lost because we were shit, but Atkinson was poor. Ref'd as though it's a non-contact sport.

Appreciate the push was slight but he knew what he was doing. It was blatant. When you're in the air there's little you can do to regain balance if pushed. Correct decision, unfortunately.

C'mon Paddy. Let's not resemble the Spuds limping cock. Good or bad decisions, the ref has nothing to do with it. He was as good as you can get in the PL, bar Michael Oliver whom I rate a lot. I'm amazed that this thread made four pages already. It makes us sound like sore losers and we're better than that.

He'll listen to his sports science team, and if they say the players aren't able to perform optimally, he won't play them - and rightly so. However, we should have a deep enough squad to rotate a position in every part of the pitch, and right now we don't.

We've not even seen Dragović play in the league yet, when Morgan and Maguire will likely be playing a game every 2 or 3 days. Fatigue will catch up to them if we don't rotate properly.

Having looked at the Ndidi dive again, I’d say Atkinson was right.

You are right

Anyone saying it's not a dive is kidding themselves. Imagine if Zaha went down like that and won a penalty.

And you are right

Anyone else with a similar opinion is also right

Anyone else with an alternative opinion is wrong…

can we we move on now?

I've been away all weekend and didn't get to see the game. I've only seen a quick clip of Ndidi's 'dive'.

For me, he's unlucky there. He's clearly clipped and impeded but not enough to do so to go down, then thought "but if I don't go down I don't get the penalty" and gone down a second late.

I think a second yellow is harsh and I think Palace are lucky he didn't fall down like Zaha or Mahrez would have done in that situation.

Jon moss was fourth official Saturday and he is back on Saturday for the yanited game as first official  !

I accept I'll probably in the minority here, but actually think he's not as bad an official in recent times imo.

He is great as long as there aren’t any proper decisions to be made - then he’s an accident waiting to happen ........

But who in your opinion would you rate as being very good referees in this league?

It appears all of them are too inconsistent imo.

It seems like most have made controversial mistakes, leading to managers both directly and indirectly criticising them, and these mistakes being hot discussions on Match of the Day and Sky Sports etc.

He's unlucky not to get the penalty perhaps, but the delay makes it a dive and until refs go for foul and simulation  (e.g. if I'm Dele Alli and I'm tripped, and launch into an Olympic gold floor routine from it - I've been fouled but I'm taking the piss), the second booking is always going to be the call.

Very few people mentionning that benteke got nobbled in the box by albrighton and nothing was given.

Makes the thread lose credibility if you just turn a blind eye to that or pretend there was a reason why it was fair.

It was a good refereeing performance. The result doesnt have to be 4-0 leicester or refereed 80 20 in leicesters favour to accept the referee was good.

My only complaint was how he allowed Speroni to literally take 30 seconds for every goal kick from Palace’s first goal. But he’s not the only referee who fails to clamp down on time wasting

This is something I've noticed as well. Does the the 6 second rule still apply to keepers holding on to it? This isn't a dig from Saturdays game, I've noticed it a lot recently. Refs seem to allow the keeper to hold on to the ball for up to 10/15 seconds. I find it highly frustrating, winning or losing. They need to clamp down on it. I also feel keepers have too much protection from refs.
