Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

technically we've only really played one, he wasn't "on strike" (lol he was never on strike ffs) for the everton game, he was half way through transfer negotiations.

and i'd still be very surprised if it wasn't an agreed period of time away with the club and everyone involved agreeing. he was annoyed and pissed off, we decided based on that not to play him vs Swansea, so there's no point in him ruining training with a bad attitude and a mard on. we speak to him again on Monday and see the situation, decide to keep the heat off by not involving him vs man city but make sure he comes back to training before the game because then we can all focus on the game and not WHERE IS HE.

he's back for our next game (if he's not back for tomorrow).

as far as I can see that is a much more realistic explanation for what's gone on than MAHREZ AWOL NO TRAIN TRAITOR SACK HIM. but that's not as exciting a story for the media who want to use loads of them flashing light emojis and the words breaking news in caps lock on twitter every day with the same story saying nothing.

It’s all speculation still though. Unless we get some proper clarity from the club (many reasons why they can’t do that) we’ll never know. Can’t just say the papers have made the whole thing up when we don’t know the truth

10 days and 1 match. he's available for the man city game, puel playing him is another matter. the club had negotiations with man city so what if the mahrez deal was agreed? take him off at half time and rush him to manchester?

Everton and Swansea is 2 matches. And of course he was never going to play tomorrow after this nonsense.

you can only talk for yourself. Some of us are pissed off with the guy for going AWOL and missing two weeks training and at least 3 matches. Don't try and tell us that the club wanted him to do that - we're not that gullible.

I'd gently advise you to speak for yourself, rather than 'us' and 'we', especially given you said that to me when I only ever claim to speak for myself.

I'm telling you nothing. I'm SUGGESTING that all may not be as we've been led to believe. I'm not pointing the finger at you or anybody else.

lol ok let's just be rubbish until he comes round to your house and says sorry. weirdo.

I think an apology to the fans is in order to be honest and will benefit him also

Rob Dorsett reports he's took part in full training, laughing and joking with team mates.

that's the white  smoke : the big smile of mahrez

yesterday the times reported mahrez will return  to training if his tro demands were met ( not standing in his way in the summer or include a release clause

how the club staged its answer to the two demands of mahrez :

Puel said I think mahrez will be unavailable for Saturday

Puel stressed that mahrez affair is kept inside the club

Puel has demanded mahrez to return training znd enjoying football

the two demands were accepted by both parties and within the club castle,

mzhrez return this morning to train with laughing znd smiles and all parties got their rights respected znd even puel demands ( 3 above ) were respected and seemed like mahrez responded positively to his boss

we may see some of those agreements in the few days ( public statement )

Swing it however you want. He could and should have been training and playing against Everton, he should and could have been training and playing against Swansea and he certainly won't be fit enough to play properly against Mancity when he should have been. That's at least 3 games. I just hope he gets over himself and plays properly for the rest of the season.

So you got the point I was making then? - you have no idea what myself and others think or how we think.

You seem to be an intelligent poster and make some great posts sometimes therefore I don't understand how you are confusing Leicester city fans who are annoyed that Mahrez hasn't been to training or been available to play in matches at this crucial part of the season with posters who are believing things that the media tells us. My personal feelings have nothing to do with what I've read - as interesting as that may be - it's simply to do with the fact Mahrez quit on the club's fans for 2 weeks.

If he plays brilliantly for the rest of the season I'll be happy for him and Leicester but I'll always remember his actions over the last 2 weeks (as well as last summer) and will be happy to get a big fee for him when he leaves in the summer. Personally I've moved on from wanting Mahrez to remain a Leicester player which was my position until January 31.

I simply ask you don't try to speak for anyone but yourself FIF. I've never claimed to know what people think, but I do have some small insight into the power of the press, and how easily we can all be misled. I'm not aiming at anyone personally, I'm confused why anyone would take general unattributed opinion about the way humans think and believe personally. Unless they felt attacked, of course, which would be strange, but perhaps unsurprising.

What's he going to say exactly, I don't want to play for LCFC anymore, we knew that before he kicked up a fuss about wanting not to play for us last summer, let's be honest, we aren't going to let a player of Mahrez's calibre leave until we have an adequate replacement.

His professionalism is not in tact, if he got his head down and focused and waited to the summer, he would imo get the club's blessing to leave, I am sure it would be a far better situation now for all parties, but this transfer deadline shenanigans and post that has been very unprofessional . We definitely won't be privy to what is going on behind the scenes.

All in all it has been a farce, and I hope that Puel who I think has been hung up to dry by the board, sees the bigger picture and is able to galvanise us to finish the season strongly. Mahrez needs to apologise to his team mates first and foremost.

I love the irony of certain individuals getting triggered by general remarks and thoughts, and then trying to belittle individuals afterwards.

You mean FIF don’t you Peaky ..    come on admit it ! ....

I'm not excusing the swansea game and the missed training sessions. Those are his fault. as for The everton game, there were negotiations and he can play tomorrow, he only missed 10 day, he didn't blow his ACL!

in that case it's pretty sad that all the players he's "let down" can accept him back instantly for the obvious benefit of the club, yet the "fans" want him banished forever "to prove a point".

Indeed!   Sad......but unfortunately true, and one of the main reasons why there is such a huge disconnection between fans and players in modern day football.

Among clubs, players and agents, the lack of honesty, loyalty, intergrity and respect for all others (incl supporters) are the defining factors in modern football and the reasons why the gap between players and fans reaction to this subject is probably so extreme.

I for one stopped paying to watch EPL football several years ago when i realised that my core values as a human being (honesty, intergrity, empathy and respect) were no longer evident and this whole Mahrez affair is simply another case of which of the 2/3 parties involved acted with the least integity as opposed to who actually acted in a 100% honest and respectful manner.

"Storm in a tea-cup", "show goes on", "all forgotten as soon as he scores again" etc, etc,..............until the next time...!

What if??, a member of his family was sick and he didn't want it to become public knowledge.

Good point ! ....    or ....     he is actually an alien and had to go home to get one of his circuit boards changed ....     :)

or ...   he is in fact spider man and had ran out of web gel and had to travel a long way to get some more ....

or .....   he is a part time international cat burglar and was ‘lying low’ ...

or ...   he is indeed a mardy sulky little bugger ...   :o

Either way I’m glad he’s back ...    cus that’s best for the club ...   :scarf:

I always thought the media were blowing this out of proportion and now with the idiot Rob Dorset confirming players including Mahrez are "laughing with each other" I know the media have blown this out of proportion. They do anything for a story.

Get Mahrez back. He won't start tomorrow but should be on the bench. Our most creative player, we need him..... if he scores the winner tomorrow everybody will forget all this.
