The Thorgen Hazard rumours seemed to have slipped away pity he does look a quality player, Don’t know what to think of Ben Arfa looks like he could disrupt the dressing room a bit if he doesn’t get his own way!

But we'll be probably to looking intbsign all unsunder over the next few months with the obligatory lazy journalist crap !!

Hope we'll be back in for Ben Arfa, could be a disaster but could be the biggest coup of the summer. We'll badly, badly need to replace Riyad's creativity as a priority above anything else this window.

No thanks. 31, not match fit, on massive wages and will expect to play every week. If he doesn't play he might break out the sarcastic cake on social media again.

Imagine if Benny did that.

I like to think we’ve improved far beyond players like Cairney and Maddison. Talents but not showed enough to warrant top 7 premier league and that’s where we want to be. I’m not saying they’d flop and I realise we got to where we are with these sort of signings but we need a vast improvement on what we have and these guys don’t do it for me.

The only player in the in the championship who id consider is Ruben Neves.

Unless we're going to overhaul our style of football, there's really no point signing target men.

This place goes nuts for a big striker and the mythical plan b but we always just play Vardy and then act shocked when Ulloa or Slimani or whoever doesn't score when we don't give them service.

If we are just signing someone to be a target man, yes, you're totally right. But if we start stacking attributes, it wouldn't be bad to prioritize having some competency re heading the ball when getting someone in to replace Shinji.

For example, a Shinji-type who is (1) above average with his head as a target, though not as good as the avg Prem-level target man, (2) above avg with the ball at his feet though below an avg Prem no. 10 quality, and (3) good and comfortable at holding the ball up and getting the ball in front of players making runs, well, then we'd have someone interesting. No elite skills, but a bit above average at a number of things we need would be great, even if we had to pay through the nose.

What we need is a guy we could pair with Vardy as a SS who can play closer to the MF to close the huge gap Vards sees between him and his MF when he is on the hip of a deep-playing CB. Shinji likes to play in that area, so he is a natural fit. THAT is what we need -- someone who can play in the enormous space of the pitch between two DMs, our two wings and Vardy. That is why we keep struggling to pair players with Vards, bc we don't need just another talented striker, we don't need a goal-scoring, we need someone who is a willing and capable passer who naturally seeks to occupy that empty space whose first move is to look for cutting wings or Vardy, whose second move is to facilitate possession at the top of the box and play off Mahrez and players like Silva or Iborra as they come forward, someone who doesn't need the energy or enthusiasm or beatific smile of Shinji but who can slow down the counter by being smart and buying our defense an extra couple seconds when we lose possession.

If, in the pursuit of such a player, we could get someone who was good with his head, that would be worth exploring. And before anyone says that is a list of things we can't find in one player, he doesn't need to be great at any one thing. We keep going for goal scorers bc we need goals. No. We need someone who can get our current goal scorers service in dangerous parts of the pitch. You can find these sorts of really good players without one elite skill all over the world, as having an elite skill is usually a requirement for a big club/league. But for us, what we need is versatility, and if that came with a height of 6-3, eh, that wouldn't hurt.

tl;dr -- agree we don't need to search for a guy whose best skill is heading the ball, but at the same time, we could use another guy up front who could head the ball a bit above avg if he also had hold up play, was a willing and adept passer, naturally played in the empty area around the top of the goal box, etc.

.....always felt George Thomas could play in that position, he seems to have done everything required of him since he came to us but has been completely overlooked for the first team. He started as main striker and was later played deeper behind the main strikers, he can pick a pass, has an eye for goal and is aware of what is around him.

I don't think he will get the chance and can see him leaving in the summer to a team who will offer him game time. A massive mistake by City and I think he is a real fit for this team as he fits the mould we once looked to bring in to the club as a good fit.

Linked with James Maddison again by a few different sources. Seen him score some wonder goals in highlights but not watched any full games. Presumably, a no 10, Okazaki replacement, anyone saw much of him? Looks great on highlights but we all know they can be deceiving... Aside from looking skillful, 2 footed and good at free kicks how's his work rate/pressing/pace?

from what ive seen of him(mainly when Norwich have been on the sky coverage mind) is that hes been paying more the Riyad role and switching sort of thing, has been brilliant for Norwich this season by all accounts and his stats seem pretty good too to me,,

would cost use over £20mil to get him though but i think he'd be worth it in the long run

James Maddison is a quality player . Full of confidence, very grounded and difinitely needs to be playing in the top tier next season .

Norwich are very poor at getting the going rate when selling . Should be 25m plus lots of add ons, knowing them it will be the first club to offer 15m + maybe a poor player in exchange .
