No!

I thought he was crap towards the end of his tenure here (injured or not) and getting £35m for him from Chelski was a winner in my books.

Dont hate me :(

think you are with the majority in here actually. I don't want him back either. Not sure how his state of mind would be either having to come back after just 1 season!

Much prefer we went for Loftus-Cheek, even if just on loan. I also actually think Silva will turn out to be a better option than Drinkwater.

Definite NO from me too

Can't see Loftus-Cheek coming here. Unfortunately, he's too good for us.

He will only go somewhere where he will start though and at 22, I'm not sure he is ready to start at one of the big 6 yet?

If he does decide to go, I think it would be the usual Us, Everton and West Ham

A FT Bingo favourite.

Although I get what you're saying, NOBODY is 'too good' for Leicester.

Gelson Martins. 23. Right winger to replace Mahrez, positionally. Portugal WC sqaud. Just terminated his contract with Sporting, so no transfer fee. 8 goals and 8 assists in the league last season. Champ league/Europa experience.

rapid tricky winger. If we could convince him, it’s a no-brainer.

Can see these 'free transfers' from sporting getting very messy. Thought that when Wolves signed Riu Patricio yesterday. Surely going to end up going through the courts.

Some talent available though if someone takes the risk!

More paper talk today of Loftus-Cheek potentially leaving Chelsea to seek a starting spot somewhere else... :fishing:

It seemed crazy at the time and even more crazy in hindsight that last year Chelsea sent him on loan and bought Drinkwater for £35m.

At only 22 he would be great for us and his attributes would be much better suited to us than Silva. Two beasts in central midfield in Ndidi and Loftus Cheek protecting the defence and holding the fort as Vardy the three attacking midfielders and the maruding full backs bomb forward.

We won't be in for him though as we've just spent £35m on Silva and Iborra in the last year and he would be overkill.

If true, then I'm hoping there is still a lot more to come from Silva. I was buzzing about his signing last season. He really needs to adapt quickly this coming season. He's had his 6 months bedding in, now he needs to shine for us. Iborra will be useful for rotation and competition. I still think we are a top midfielder light, but that's me just being greedy and wanting 11 top starters plus 7 top players on the bench too, pushing them!

But you were also an advocate for us spending £12m on an ageing central midfielder to come here as a reserve to bolster the squad. ;)

We're not a bottomless pit, we can't have it all ways. :D

Seriously though I think Puel prefers to dominant defensive central midfielders in the middle of the park rather than a No8 like Silva. I don't think Puel would have picked Silva or Iborra if it was up to him but this is what we have. I think he'd much rather pick a top quality partner for Ndidi and have weaker options behind them than sacrificing quality for numbers.

Absolutely was an advocate for signing a 29 year old for 12million who brought with him a load of experience and a leadership quality that is clear to see on the pitch, not to mention his playing ability which was also evident when he was not a reserve, but a starter for a long period.

He offered us great value on the pitch last season, being rated our 2nd best performer in his first 6 months here and I expect he will continue to have a positive impact when he plays for us. Decent buy so far and more to come no doubt ;)

I understand we are not a bottomless pit and that is why we need to focus on getting rid of the mistakes we previously made in Musa, Slimani, possibly Mendy etc... and also then moving on players who offer very little competition or value on the pitch.

Having 7 top players on the bench doesn't have to be expensive and just because they are on the bench, doesn't mean they are not of great use to us over a season. It's too short-sighted to focus solely on improving the starting 11 and too naive to think that youth players can be thrown in and compete consistently at the high level we requre week in week out.

I agree on Silva though, and that's why I suggested he needs to adapt quickly if he wants to start in that role for us. I wouldn't be that surprised if we are in for a physically stronger CM to play alongside N'didi. Silva still has a lot of qualities though that hopefully he can demonstrate next season, now that he is presumably settled.

I’d take Quintero for a Mahrez replacement

Comes with motivational issues and usually plays as an attacking midfielder, not a right midfielder/winger.

26 in January and has been on loan to Rennes and two South American clubs since joining Porto five years ago. Avoid.

Just one more player, a Centre back IMO.

Need to trim the squad down, I do however suspect we shall be loaning a lot of players out to collect loan fees rather than straight up sales.(A bit like Chelsea)

Danny Ings allowed to leave Liverpool. Yes he's the oldest looking 25 year old in the world, yes he's made of wafers, but would anybody have him?

Probably an area we're well stocked in, in fairness.

If the opportunity presented itself then I'd have him as always thought him and Vardy would be perfect together but what he needs is at least a full season of playing as many games as possible and he won't get that here without Iheanacho and Maddison barely playing.
