The balancing act/risks managers have to take when it's coming towards the end of a very unfulfilling season. He was in the exact same boat last year at Southampton and he couldn't stir a change in his sides results and performances. He simply has to in the next few otherwise he's gone. The problem with trying to get results when there's very little to play for is made even harder when you've got players who are leaving or don't really need to try, that's why it's worth trying fringe players who are desperate to make a name for themselves like Diabate, Barnes and Dragovic.

I would've thought if he was going to change it he would've done by now.

Simpson and Morgan have been completely inept for months. Albrighton has worked hard without any end product for a long time, too. He's sticking with the old guard and I would assume will try and rebuild in the summer. I'd be surprised if we got more than 5 points from our next 5 games thats for sure. Boring times.

I'd say play the youngsters but I'd rather have a win than another loss but then again if the regulars can't be arsed then at least the youngsters will be motivated.

We've not won at home since early January in the league, quite disgusting given who we've played as well. Puel is fighting for his job and ought to use a team of players who have a point to prove.

Don't care - Hamer or Jakupovic

Amartey

Dragovic

Maguire

Chilwell

Ndidi

Silva

Diabate

Barnes

Gray

Vardy

Drop our best player against a team in a relegation fight, where does leave the

integrity of the completion.

"Stoke, West Brom,Huddersfield,Palace etc. we're not going to play Marhez against your relegation rivals

we'd like to have another look at an kid whose shown nothing yet"

Think again!

I'm all  for giving the young guns a fair shot now that Europe is dead but the risk is too big for Puel. A defeat at home against the club who sacked him last season, after a poor run of home games, won't bode well at all.

If it’s a case of ‘he’s off in the summer’, which it almost certainly is, we’d have every right not to play Mahrez.

If anything it’s a perfect opportunity to give some young talent a chance. They’re in the PL squad and have every right to be on the pitch.

Schmeichel

Amartey, Hughes, Maguire, Chilwell

Mahrez, Choudhury, Ndidi, Diabate

Barnes

Vardy

Knight & Thomas on the bench.

As much as I’m for giving youth a chance, and being safe from relagation makes it the perfect opportunity,

we are a business, each position is worth millions to the club and should we lose the next 5 games through giving others an opportunity,

then a decent 8th place season could turn into a terrible 14th place finish at a huge financial cost, which will have implications on next seasons recruitment

Think it'll be

Hamer (reckon Kasper won't make it)

Simpson Morgan Maguire Chilwell

Mahrez Ndidi Silva Albrighton

Diabete Vardy

What I'd like to see

Kasper

Simpson Dragovic Maguire Fuchs

Diabate Ndidi Silva Gray

Mahrez

Vardy

Play Simmo and Morgan and Puel might as well buy a spade now and start digging his own grave. Surely he can see what many others can see?

Am i the only one that thought Barnes was completely useless in the cup games he's played this year?

The lad is 20. He had good reviews in League One with MK and at Championship level with Barnsley. You're judging him on a couple of short cup appearances. He's not gonna be amazing straight away, give it time ffs. We need to see what young players are like, now is the perfect opportunity. We might lose players then lets look into our youth system.

It would be good to see iheanacho upfront instead of Vardy with diabate gray and mahrez behind. Ndidi and Silva behind.

Dragovich must have slept with Puels daughter to not get a game.

Vardy must've slept with your missus to warrant him being completely dropped even though he's been our best player this season.

Would like to see Iheanacho get a run of games now that our season is over, Okazaki offers absolutely nothing in this Puel system, if anything, playing Okazaki isolates Vardy.

nacho and diabate are the 2 I would like to see start for the rest of the season nacho and vardy could work well together and now would be the perfect time to give them a run of games. No sure how gray has played recently but I think diabate could be more consistent than him given a run of games. Really hoping we attack early doors get 2 or 3-0 up by half time and be able to enjoy the rest of the game ?

Aye, Shinji's usual role as a disruptive attacking midfielder is rarely needed under Puel sadly. But Shinji still works well as an additional midfielder to crowd out opposition midfields. Our win against Chelsea best demonstrated that. However, Iheanacho is young and should be given first team time to improve.

Absolutely agree that it is too early to write him off but he was extremely poor in both games. Compare that to the potential that Diabaté has shown in his games.

I think we should have let him out on loan for the whole season as it's nice to be part of a winning team but o don't think the under 23s team will benefit him as much as first team football in the championship or league one would

Diabete looks good when he's come off the bench. I've called for him to start on the back of good performances from the bench but when he's started games he hasn't been any good. Aside from Posh of course, he started that game and was superb.

We'll be unimaginative and ponderous first half, Soton will score just before half time, we'll come out 2nd half looking decent, but missing a few good chances, subs will be too late on, Vardy will equalise, but that will be it. 1-1

You don't need to watch it now. You'd probably sleep through it, anyway.

I've posted this a few times, but please play the 11 that started vs Swansea at home. Best 45 minutes I've seen us play in a long time.
