Comfortably? I'd contest that.

And yes, as unlikely as it is, we are not completely out of relegation troubles as of yet. We could be by tonight if we finally start to play positive football from the onset again and take the game to Southampton's half FROM THE START.

We are out of it in everything except name. Even if Southampton won all of their games, they'd finish on 43 points, but their goal difference is -22 compared to us, so they'd need to score an average of 4.4 goals per game with conceding none.

But I get your point, it's not an impossibility...

Not entirely correct, because since it would also require us to lose every single of the five remaining matches, it would take less than 4.4 goals per game for Southampton to make up for the much worse goal difference.

Like I said, merely a playful thought, nothing else. The probability is close to 0.

Ah fair point, hadn't factored our results in. It's going to be tough for Southampton, no doubt. Their remaining fixtures are against other strugglers or Everton and Man City.

dead rubber so struggling to get excited for tonight. doing some gardening in the sunshine seems more appealing.

It really isn't. Southampton are in dire need of points and Puel a win. It will be interesting to see if the players turn up.

Is it sold out and are they bringing many?

Apparently not many Southampton fans tonight. I think some tickets are left in M block as the away corner has been reduced.

Rumours that Hamer will start in goal tonight as Schmeichel hasn't recovered from injury.

Not sure its a big loss.

Saints have only taken one block (M3) in the away end. Club have sent out an email offer today £15 a ticket in M1 or M2 (the usual away end)

we're 13/10 to beat Southampton at home. They've won one of their last 22 Premier League Games.

We're 8th. They're 18th. Those odds on paper are absolutely mental.

We also haven't won in the league at home since January and have played some heinous dross in the process. Southampton are fighting for their lives and most of our team are fighting the urge to turn up pissed to work as their seasons over.

Deserved by Kelechi. Last 2 games he's come on in prem (WBA and Burnley) he's got 2 assists and a goal.
