I need this win, to get me through work on Friday; quell the bubbling doubts, which I dont think I should have, about Puel;

get me believing there is a point in watching the rest of the games this season.

I'll still watch the remaining games either way, but lose this one and i will watch them like a soulless corpse

Need to pick Ndidi/Silva, Iheanacho/Vardy and one of Gray/Diabate for every game from now and see if they can build any sort of partnerships.

Spot on. Although happy for diabate/Gray to share it and let the best man win. Either one on form is a hell of an impact sub.

It'll be the same as Bournemouth, Stoke...we'll play ponderous possession football, have no shot on target and 88% possession. They'll score and we'll get an 82nd minute equalizer from Vardy after we start to play on the 79th minute. Boos at the final whistle. Meltdown in the post match thread.

TBH I'm getting tired of this same prediction from various folks (even myself) week after week

So FFS lads can you arse yourselves and make it not come true just this once?  It's April, not Groundhog Day.

BTW why are we playing on a thursday?

Why Thursday exactly, I can't tell. But it's a game both teams have in hand, so it needs to be played asap before the following gameweek.

Probably got something to do with Southampton playing in the FA Cup against Chelsea on Sunday, so that leaves Wednesday or Thursday for recuperation purposes.

8th place and extra prize money to invest in next season:scarf:

I'm not sure the players will be that bothered about that. There will be alot who are just playing the season out now not wanting to get injured for World Cup.

Amartey has been training, so there's a slim chance he might make the team.

well thats good then, a 50% fit Amartey would do better than SImpson atm

Southampton did a number on us in this fixture last season (0-0).

Set up perfectly to stop our counter-attacking when we were still very good at it. Van Dijk had Vardy in his pocket. Very impressive.

Claude Puel was their manager.

IIRC we were lucky to get a draw on the day. Think they should have won it but Austin didn't manage to lift the ball over Kasper when he really should have done.

For once, I'm positive about tomorrow. It's been pretty quiet around the squad this week. Europe is off. I think that it's possible that we'll see some sort of bettered performance as a result, sadly.

You are having a laugh?

I'll be surprised if the meltdowns not started by the tenth post in the match thread.

We were supposed to be playing them this Saturday anyway but due them to being in the cup still it had to be re arranged, as well as us having to schedule in a midweek fixture with Arsenal.

Don't know why we can't play arsenal this sunday instead of it being midweek.

They play West Ham this Sunday.

As somebody pointed out the other day, next season starts here, for me. Time for the manager to nail his colours to the mast and play what he thinks might serve him well next season. Personnel, formation, tactics - the whole lot.

Exactly. Normally I'd be against experimentation for its own sake - but what's to lose?

In truth we've nothing to play for, and our internationals have been in injury-avoidance mode for weeks.

I'd much rather watch Diabate have a chance tomorrow than endure another 90mins watching Mahrez amble casually around the pitch, out of position, never tracking back, forlornly hoping he scores some wondergoal to justify his presence.

What do you think the reaction will be if he goes all in on this but loses? For example, Diabate, Gray, Ihenacho, Dragovic all start. Maybe Mahrez does not start but comes on. Maybe even Hamza keeps his place despite Ndidi coming back (this one is most unlikely, though I think Hamza will come on again for Silva in the second half). Maybe even Barnes or the other youngster that travelled with the squad to Burnley make an appearance?

Personally I would give him a pass and be quite encouraged. If the season is over and we can't get to Europe, then maybe giving newer players a chance to get a good run of games in the first team is a good thing to do?

I can picture Puel doing this on Thursday night. But what would the crowd reaction be if we lost / lost heavily as a result?

... although Monsieur Puel has already "miscoached" the backround 2018, someone in the club should explain him that the first squad of a PL-club is not an education-club and certainly not a football school where you can introduce more or less talented footballers to the professional business. For this, LCFC has an academy for young talents. There is no time for this kind of talent view. There are no young and old players, there are only good and bad players. Therefore, Chilwell and Gray out of the starting XI and Fuchs and Albrighton into the team. How is Robert Huth doing after his severe injury? The Foxes are missing him very much. In the defense he was  outstanding and in the opponent box he was always dangerous. Other than Maguire, who is only dangerous in his own box...

I’m in the doom and gloom club too. Our season is over but Southampton are fighting to stay up. Expect 60% possession, conceding two crap goals and a Vardy reply after we start going for it at the 60m mark for another 2-1 loss.

Life or death for them but a training game for us - 3-1 defeat (Dewsbury -Hall og (3)

If we lose tomorrow FT will be in meltdown for sure.

we will lose for sure. we are experimenting now despite the managerial flannel and saints, though poor themselves  are fighting to stay in the prem. 2-0 to hughes’s men.

this season reminds me of the peter taylor season collapse in 2001 post Wycombe fa cup defeat. we then lost all bar one match including against all the relegation strugglers back then. Forget it lads; the players are virtually on the beach with their flip flops at the ready.
