Dan Posted 15 April 2018 Posted 15 April 2018 Yeah the 'Mahrez must play at all costs' is void now. We've got nothing to play for now. Do a bit of experimenting. 3

With nothing to play for, kasper will not be risked if it turns out that he has a significant injury and a chance to recover for his World Cup campaign He’s played well for the first team

I assume something to do with TV It's not on Sky - They're showing Blackburn v Peterborough. eddylcfc Posted 15 April 2018 Posted 15 April 2018 Would like to see... Kasper Drag Morgan Maguire Albrighton Ndidi Silva Chilwell Mahrez - just let him go where he wants Vardy Nacho 2
FrankieADZ Posted 16 April 2018 Posted 16 April 2018 would like to see Dragovic come back in the team for Morgan and Amarteyy for SImpson, if not Albrighton at RB, but cant see it happening and Morgan and Simpson will keep their places, dont know what Southampton will turn up tbh given they have the FA Cup semi final on the Sunday, will their players be some of half hearted and not want to get injured and such. hopefully we can get back to winning ways

Their PL status is now tenuous and a cup final appearance would not cover the financial impact of relegation for them. we don’t know if some players have relegation clauses and how that might affect their mindset. guess we will know late Thursday.
Popular Post ZeGuy Posted 16 April 2018 Popular Post Posted 16 April 2018 (edited) Puel won't allow them to win here and will align the strongest possible team. Also I want them to go down. Attack is the best defense: GK Amartey (if fit) Dragovic Maguire Chilly Ndidi Silva Mahrez Nacho Gray/Diabaté Vardy Edited 16 April 2018 by ZeGuy 7

Md9 Posted 16 April 2018 Posted 16 April 2018 Really need an early goal to settle the team and puts Southampton under massive pressure to get back into the game which will open up space for us to hopefully get a few more. Don't see the team changing to much apart from wilf coming back in, need a win here as palace away will be a tricky game to get something from

Maybe because Sky had Burnley vs Chelsea and Thursday was the only date, they moved Southampton to Thursday too (to avoid them getting an extra day rest to Chelsea). Then again, Tottenham get an extra day rest over Utd.

Southampton are on the brink and must come out fighting. We need some courage and work rate ourselves to match them otherwise could see us going behind first again. With Kaspers knock, it's a good time to give Jakapovic a Premier League start. The lads in our Premier 2 team deserve to be in the mix for the last five games. I would go along the lines of: GK: Jakapovic DR: Johnson DC: Dragovic DC: Maguire DL: Chilwell MC: Ndidi MC: Silva RW: Albrighton LW: Gray ST: Iheanacho ST: Vardy Subs: Hamer, Knight, Fuchs, Choudrey, Diabate, Barnes, Thomas. Hasn't Johnson just refused a new deal? Don't think Dragovic will be here next season either and a good chance Maguire will be sold. So possibly 75% of that back 4 won't be here next season.
Ted Maul Posted 16 April 2018 Posted 16 April 2018 Really need a win here- the mood among a growing portion of the fanbase is deteriorating by the game. I'm on the fence with Puel- I want continuity, but we're not showing enough at the moment to suggest he's the man we should be offering it to. If we end the season in the same way the last couple of games have gone, keeping him on is a major risk in my eyes. This team needs a massive overhaul this summer, and if we've got the wrong man in to do it then it would be a disaster. We need to end the season pretty positively, lift the mood, get everyone on the same page and optimistic moving forward. 2-1 to Southampton. 1
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 16 April 2018 Posted 16 April 2018 Thoughts are now towards next season and the way we play, our poor form at home and the rubbish we are losing to doesn’t bode well, I don’t think we can afford to lose this game, or draw for that matter, we need a spirited performance and a win to show the fans that things are progressing. What we don’t need is a hesitant timid start first half and to go a goal down again, time to step up because Southampton will be coming to have a real go.
Ric Flair Posted 16 April 2018 Posted 16 April 2018 We've not won at home since early January in the league, quite disgusting given who we've played as well. Puel is fighting for his job and ought to use a team of players who have a point to prove. Don't care - Hamer or Jakupovic Amartey Dragovic Maguire Chilwell Ndidi Silva Diabate Barnes Gray Vardy

Why wouldn't you want to utilize Mahrez whilst we still have him? Mahrez with 1 leg is more of an asset than Harvey Barnes ffs
daddylonglegs Posted 16 April 2018 Posted 16 April 2018 Literally anyone but Schmeichel Literally anyone but Simpson Literally anyone but Morgan Maguire Chilwell Ndidi Silva Not Albrighton Not Okazaki Mahrez Vardy. Don't really care that much about who fills the gaps. I'm gonna make the trip up but I'm certainly not looking forward to it haha 1

If we lose against Southampton whilst dropping our best player and playing our least experienced who looked out of place against Fleetwood, Puel is a dead man walking!

The balancing act/risks managers have to take when it's coming towards the end of a very unfulfilling season. He was in the exact same boat last year at Southampton and he couldn't stir a change in his sides results and performances. He simply has to in the next few otherwise he's gone. The problem with trying to get results when there's very little to play for is made even harder when you've got players who are leaving or don't really need to try, that's why it's worth trying fringe players who are desperate to make a name for themselves like Diabate, Barnes and Dragovic.

No I don't get to games now. But that would not change a thing as far as I'm concerned. He's shown his colours. Waiting at an airport was bad enough but refusing to train/play no sorry. The sooner he fvcks off the better.
