Langston Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 The strange thing about the Hart signing is they had a more than adequate third choice in Lindegaard who wouldn't have disgraced himself in the three or four games he'd have been called upon until Heaton came back, then Pope. Just bizarre as he's surely on a decent enough packet there.

They will be out by Friday, so they will be back on it.

Your convincing argument has swayed me. You are right, he is shit. I was the last one to spot it .. My sincere apologies.

Guest Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 Watched a few games this weekend. Wolves are far better than people on here want to admit. They are naive in defence and have a problem scoring anything inside the box but they are entertaining. On a par with Mancity and Liverpool for worth watching. Watford and Palace (like Wolves) are average teams that we'll need to fend off to get our top 7 spot. Brighton may be flawed but they are not poor enough to go down. Burnley and Fulham are just below Watford, Palace, Wolves, bottom half but probably not bad enough to go down. Huddersfield and Cardiff are poor. If Chelsea keep playing Morata they won't make the CL next season. If Manure are relying on Fred and Pogba they won't make the CL next season. If Liverpool don't get injuries they'll win the league, if they do then it's Mancity's to lose. We can make a european spot.

Did you actually watch Newcastle, they didn't even try to score a goal. They were at home. Setting up to not lose - we've been there and done that under Shakespeare thanks. I'm pissed off with constantly negativity. I had three people in front of me at Southampton yesterday criticising the manager and same players all game. Did they praise after? No didn't hear that at all. How about I come to your place of work and constantly tell your companies board that there's someone out there who can do probably do a better job. **** off.

A quizzically run club if I’ve ever seen one. Only lately have they seemed to develop anything resembling a personality.

Quite a few pointing out the lack of spending and the pointless signing of Joe Hart I don't see what's there to complain about. Heaton has just come back from an eleven-month injury spell, Pope is still out, they needed at least one new one whilst these two couldn't play. Legzdins isn't good enough, and Lindegaard on the decline. Hart has done well for them so far, especially in the Europa League.

Maybe because he either had to be sold (in order to fix the finances) or because he wanted to leave the club. I wouldn't call him "classy". He's only 23, once scored a whopping nine goals in a full season, but is bound to get better with age. Right now, he looks promising. But he needs to keep his scoring rate up and prove he's the real deal even in the Premier League.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 Burnley look in trouble already. Leaking goals...
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 Sean Dyche has never lost a game without some sort of gripe, has he? Definition of sore loser. He won't spend money because it means he has one of favourite excuses for losing games taken away. Thoughts @lancyclaret I reckon he's Holding your team back.

Rafa has become the most boring manager in the Premiership. Newcastle got what they deserved today be being totally negative. At home, in front of 50k fans the least you’d expect is for them to have a go.
ARM1968 Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 Not sure Rafa has much to work with up there to be fair to him.

They needed a keeper for 3 to 4 games maximum. Seems madness when Burnley’s squad has more pressing matters - they brought in a keeper on notoriously high wages to play three/four games. This is from Burnley fans ringing in on 606

Adster Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 Delighted Burnley are shipping goals and points. If you don't invest, you'll get punished. It's as simple as that. If you have average players, like they do, they'll get punished. Hope they get relegated. Will be one more tinpot team out of the PL.

The point is that Heaton is ready or very nearly ready to return, and they have Lindegaard, on the decline or not, he's there. They didn't need to sign a new high profile, high wage keeper on a permanent contract. If they aren't prepared to use what they have, why have them? They now have 4 keepers who most premier league teams would happily have in their team or on the bench. There's plenty of other parts of the Burnley squad that need improving, especially with the increase in games. If I was a Burnley fan I'd be telling Dyche to stop moaning about the lack of funds when he's wasting money on a pointless keeper, just start the season with Lindegaard and bring Heaton back in a few weeks.

Reported that he is trying a new defensive set up resulting in lascelles refusing to play on the right of a back three . Lascelles has been a leader at the club so be interesting to see how that plays out and whether they can maintain the fiction that he is unfit for selection at the moment
The Bear Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 Look at the state of Cardiff's next 8 fixtures. They'll be lucky to get 3-4 points from this lot.
