For Croatia at the WC and now he just looks like another above average attacking midfielder. Think he has the quality to improve though and still 24 in a new League, think he'll show more eventually

Very lazy and an easy cop out to attribute their poor start down to tiredness, for me. They aren't suddenly going to become world-beaters just because they don't have an extra six games to contend with.

The odds were always against them doing that in consecutive seasons whether in Europe or not. I think they'll have enough to stay in the division even if they progress in the Europa but it was always a bit of a stretch to envisage them doing as well as last season imo.

I admire Benitez because of his classy attitude & personal style (classy dresser) but understand that his football is dour.
