I mean Its nice for the fans who get to travel to far flung places in Europe on a Thursday night but it's such a poisoned challice.

Look at how its effected teams in the past with their league form having to play Thursdays and then Sundays....there's naff all money in it until the latter stages and it's more of a hinderance than a help.

We had the Champions League which stuck is in danger of relegation at one point but that was worth it with it being an elite competition but the Europa League is a pile of pants in my opinion and its not a tournament we would ever have won anyway.

Thats my opinion...disagree with me if you like.

If you don't want to strive for the best in Sport then what's the point in even playing it.

Europa League isn't the best.....fair enough if its by virtue of winning a cup but by default for finishing 7th...nah not for me

I pointed out this morning that we are 1 point better off than last seasons finishing total but in the form we're in with 5 games left can you see us improving much on that?

It remains to be seen, but bear last seasons CL campaign in mind, the extra games, heavier workload, travelling, it just adds more to the point that this season has been just as poor.

But in answer to your question - what's the point in even competing if we have the attitude and mindset you speak of.

I just think not being in the Europa League is as good as being in it so we are not at a loss

Not pissing on the achievement for burnley if they make it but doubt our players fancied it.

Probably all on bonuses just for staying up. Im sure that was puels remit when he took charge.

Transition period we dont need the distraction but it seemed there for the taking at one point.

For my sins, I love football and I love watching Leicester City.

If Europa League means potentially 21 more games to watch, then bring it on.

What fans wouldn’t want that?

i don't buy the argument that players wouldn't want it.

We've seen these players go from shit to winning games in succession so im sure theyd at least try and qualify if they wanted it.

Yes i was buzzing for a trip to Kazakhstan in july. Followed by a trip to a German industral estate and and some where in Greece or Cyprus seems the players not so much.

Now that the europa spot is beyond us I can see our form now picking up, IMO the players didn’t fancy a short summer break and the thought of a load more games

i'd rather they not be at my club if they don't want to play games for us, whether it's friendlies, league matches or European matches. Don't sign for/play for a club that may have the possibility of going to the far stretches of Europe if you're not up for it.

Right, look at all how many times we were in a european cup and all those CL trophies we already won. We're above this kind of shit.

Puel certainly wanted it as I suspect he would have used the tournament to play squad players if his quote with the Glenn Hoddle interview was something to go by.

"And after that, no club wanted to play in the InterToto Cup. So we played in it and we took them like friendlies. I used academy players at the beginning. We won the InterToto, played European games until the last 16 of the Europa League and we finished second, in the Champions League positions. With the same team, we continued and I think it was 2004, we rotated between seven and nine players every game".

Play the first team in the league and the squad players in Europe and reevaluate your priorities as the season goes on. It's a competition we would be one of the top ten favourites to win and gives us our best chance of Champions League football.

Nobody has quite got what I mean re not being in the Europa League.

I want Leicester to do well of course I do but the Europa League can have a negative impact on your league season to the point where it could threaten relegation.

Think about it would Burnley fans rather be in the Premier League for a few more seasons or play in the Europa League and it cost them their Premier League place.

We all moan on here when we lose no matter what and god forbid we are threatened by relegation with the meltdowns ive seen. To not have to play on a Thursday night gives us a better chance at the weekend and people suggesting wed play a weakened team....yeah that would go down really well with our high demanding fans.

I wanted us to finish as high in the league as possible but not making the Europa League has just as many plusses as it does minuses

Owners wanted it, Manager wanted it although the preferred option was by winning the FA Cup as that at least means you do not have the preliminary stages which start in July. Hindsight probably but the league route would have been a nightmare but do not be kidded that it was the players or club not wanting it.....
