Mahrez to Man City shock

We should stand our ground on a fee of 75 million at least.

Gareth Bale was sold for 100 million having helped Spurs finished no greater than 4th place and not even a Champions League quarter final.

Man City bought John Stones for 50million FFS. Would they accept a bid of 60 million for Kevin De Bruyne? Would they f''''.

Well they bought De Bruyne for £55 million fairly recently so maybe paying £75 million for a clearly inferior player

is even making them think twice.

What people are failing to grasp is they bought De Bruyne three seasons a go when he had just turned 24.   He's 26 now and has held his value and some.

Mahrez is 28 in February, in three seasons time he'll be going on 31 and will have to be posting Messi/Ronaldo stats to hold his value.

In all honesty it's a great time for us to sell Mahrez with his age and two years on his contract left. The fact that he'll throw an absolute wobbly if he's still here after the window shuts just makes it a must for us to get it done.

I actually don't begrudge Mahrez his 10% or whatever it is, he has certainly earned it here.

What will make me laugh though is his "super agent" Kia Joorabchian not getting his slice of it if Leicester play hardball. Mahrez will no doubt be happy with his new salary and if both the clubs agree terms then Mahrez's agent has got nowhere to go when negotiating with Leicester if we insist he doesn't get it. :D

Mahrez and his agent will have no option but to suck it up.

Not really after all his whinging and whining about us blocking his move! Now he’s the one doing it because he wants a slice of the pie lol

You know the club isn't green-lighting the deal because they don't want to pay him the money that HE deserves according to the law, right? You talking about the "slice of the pie" like it's a hand-out or something. Every player gets a part of the transfer fee, then why shouldn't he?

Why should he get a loyalty bonus when he went on strike? Ruined our second half of the season? Surely by law he should have not gone on strike!

Its not because of the law, it's because of what's in the pfa approved contracts used in the pro game. It'd be interesting to see what happened if we tested this clause in the law courts but, alas, the pfa appeals process is the route to argue over clauses and we'd lose. Hence the fact we might sit tight until he agrees to reduce his share.

Presumably if the terms of his contract have been met for him to get a “loyalty” payment, then he is entitled to hold out for it. Just as Leicester are at liberty to refuse to allow the transfer to proceed unless he waives his right to the fee, or MC pay it instead.

If he really wants to go that much, then he’d have no problem waiving it. Really hope the club succeed with this. I’d hate him to get it after all the trouble he’s caused recently.

so il looks like mr ryad is controlling his own fate ( master on the pitch , master on the deal

he can throw away the loyalty fee and he is gone

he can hold on the fee and he is delaying his hi

plz don't play with the hearths , ryad , be a man and leave the loyalty fee within the house , we do need it to strengthen the squad

( on the basis the Alex Nixon is telling the truth )

Pretty irrelevant what they paid for KDB, what matters is the value now.  It might have been a fairly recent transfer but I think you'd need £150m to try to buy him.  Similar situation with Salah.  I mean try offering Liverpool their £35m back for him.  He must be worth over £100m now.  Is Harry Maguire only worth £17m because that is what we paid for him only a year ago?

Riyad is worth £75m as a minimum IMO.
