Silva giving his shirt to a Palace fan

When I heard about him giving his shirt to a palace fan I presumed it must have happened before the full time whistle after the absolute raping we got today.

why do you had to have been there to have an opinion on the situation lol ?

He's given his shirt to a Portuguese fan. If @Bayfox is to be believed (I see no reason why not) he walked back past the fans and clapped, then consquently got booed anyway?

I guess from the way it seemed at the time, it looks like he's ignored the fans first and gone straight to Palace fans. An ill-judged decision for sure. But even when presented with the facts (from Silva himself) that he's handed his shirt to a Portuguese fan he was speaking to before the match (unknown if actually a Palace fan as well, unlikely?), they seem to have been ignored? Certainly no need for all the anger and aggressive reaction from some on here. Perhaps it's misplaced anger about the bigger position about how shite are club appears to be right now...

If you don't believe me.

Which I accept you are using my quote as an example. He's actually gone on Twitter himself to confirm the situation.

When did we become offended by everything.

Point it player hands shirt to fellow national and appaulds away end gets shit.

Player who conceded 5 ****s off down the tunnel and comes no where near fans who spend money gets away without his own thread on foxes talk. Maybe i could start one. Under the over reaction thread:unsure:

It’s the fashion these days. Everyone’s an expert, everything is black and white and when it’s not on your side, outrage is the go to response.

• difficult and complex medical decisions = outrage

• military action overseas = outrage

• situation surrounding future trading relationships = outrage

• Morrison’s not selling meat pies before 9am = outrage

He was clapped as he walked past the away fans while taking off his shirt. Claps turned into confused boos once he reached the Palace fans. Confused boos continued as he hugged the man in the Palace end and as he clapped us afterwards.

It all just seemed very strange at the time, especially with emotions running high.

Watching the clip back, Silva did actually clap the away fans before making the long walk in front of the away end, but no one saw it because everyone was looking at Vardy.

Anyway, I agree we probably just needed a moan to distract us from the result.

To be fair if he'd tried to give it to a City fan they probably would have handed it back.

To be fair if he tried to give it to a city fan he would of missed

When I first read the op and saw the clip, I was annoyed but on hearing more detail I can understand why he did it, but should’ve been more sensitive to our fans. Why not walk over with JV, appauld our fans , make sorry gestures , ( even kiss the badge if u like ) then gesture what he was about to do,run to his mate quickly, make a thing to us of showing the guys shirt with Silva on it, then give him the shirt. Might have got  a cheer from us.

Probably not thinking right after humiliating defeat .  Certainly could have been more animated in his thanks to us and come closer. Fully understand why our fans misread it and so don’t  blame them for booing.

Calm down. There is so much wrong with Club right now and this is a minute issue of zero significance in the scheme of things.  Whatever anyone thinks about Silva, let us not forget he was rogered massively by our DOF and his bunch of cronies.

You know what I thinks worse? The amount of people on the YouTube vid clapping Vardy as he comes over. Ok he didn’t get any service and perhaps not his fault we aren’t playing to his strengths but he still lost 5-0.

Silva is a melt for doing that though

Are you saying Vardy shouldn't have been clapped for giving his shirt to a small kid who had been holding up a sign for ages?

Lose 5-0 to Palace. Fans more bothered about a player giving a shirt away.

Seems you’re missing the point, like a lot of people. If you lose 5-0 to Palace I expect you to be ashamed. So ashamed that you merely clap our fans briefly and then walk off.

If this person was a kid who idolised him then fine. If he’d promised him the shirt before the match then fine. But it doesn’t look great to fans when you’re thinking about that sort of thing rather than the shame of being hammered. If you’re shite, at least care that you’re shite.

It’s a lesser version of when we were 5-0 down to Porto with the manager under pressure and Hernandez was asking to swap shirts with someone DURING THE GAME. People defended him for that, which is ridiculous.

It was one of his Portuguese friends. I saw him after the game, he didn't take the coach back he was going with them. That said, he could have just given it to them after the game in that case. Either way they weren't "Palace fans" as such

Once again. Not the point. People spent a lot of time and money to watch that shower and he showed a complete and utter disregard for those travelling fans.

There's a time and a place for niceties and doing it right in front of your own fans after losing 5-0 is certainly not it.
