Well it's cheating isn't it? Deliberate foul to prevent a goal. Just like Suarez against Ghana in 2010. It's a disgrace.

I almost guessed Modric would miss, did you see his face... he did not look confident at all!

So if Croatia don’t score, the defender hasn’t even been sent off. How is that fair when it was a certain goal?

That changed a while ago.

It's such an awkward one - I get why they brought the rule in RE: no red for being the last man, as in most cases, the penalty is punishment enough, but yeah, it does kind of feel like in that situation it's a get out of jail 'free' card.

I agree. I don’t care what the rule is now, if I was Croatian I’d be fuming

Delighted for Kasper.

What a tackle, too- well worth the risk of a red card. I would have 100% done the same in the circumstances. Should have been a red, mind.

Kasper must be oozing confidence going into the shootout.

Does anybody else want to tell me this?

I know that FFS, that doesn’t mean it’s fair.

I knew that this sort of thing would end up happening because idiots kept complaining that sending offs ruined the game.

They don’t ruin the game, they prevent people from doing things like that.

Get a grip.

A defender should do everything in his power to stop the ball going into his net. Suarez and Jorgenssen were absolutely right to do what they've done.

Do you not think they should be sent off?

That's going to be really harsh on Modric if Denmark go on to win the shootout, I think he's been really good in this World cup.

Player of the tournament for me.

Suarez was rightly sent off, Jorgenssen was rightly yellow carded.

Red or yellow, they still had the penalty and failed to convert so it made little difference.

It does if he scores a penalty, or if it doesn’t deter people hacking someone down in future because there’s no punishment.
