Bert Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Actually enjoyed watching us for the first time in a while. Lets hope Kel can continue this pre season form into the league. Lots of positive to take from that. 2
Popular Post Vacamion Posted 4 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 4 August 2018 Anyway, love, Maguire is not a good defender. Most of his hype is because he scored a goal... 5
FoxonMaui Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 When I saw Maddison’s highlight reel the first thing I said was that he has to learnt to release the ball sooner as he tends to invite contact from opposition players. In the Championship he was heavily fouled and ended up injured. In the Prem he will get killed if he continues to play the way he does and he will be out injured a lot. He’s a bit cocky, which is not a bad thing but he needs to wise up and learn to protect himself by staying away from unnecessary contact. This kid is going to be playing for England by January IF he can stay fit. 1
mikey54 Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Plenty of positives to be taken from today’s game. The first three games of the pre season fixtures were pretty dire but they were all about working on match fitness. I’ve been particularly impressed by the younger players but we certainly need a couple more players in

Old Fox Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Just back to hotel.....Silva was excellent when he came on. Kelechi very sharp, Schmeichel absolute class two fantastic saves the double save early on and one on one second half. I am not his biggest fan but Chilwell played well, Albrighton got better as the game went on but we need a centre half and desperately need creativity but overall okay. Iborra was poor and played his way to the bench but hopefully a Vardy, Maguire, Evans, Okazaki, Gray returning will give the squad a stronger look. Still undecided about this season but clearly preseason means that .....big week to clear out a few and make a couple of signings ...personally would sell Iborra and bring Drinkwater back on loan with a view to a permanent deal!

Absolutely we haven’t seen the best from him, last season was weird for him having to miss those six months and he found it difficult to get up to speed

Based on the comment below, guessing you meant that in a good way? 1 hour ago, FIF said: Ben Chilwell motm. Excellent game. closely followed by Kasper. Johnson looked the best CB on the pitch again even if he only played a few minutes. Maddison looks class. all Iheanacho does is score. albrighton with an assist Thought Iborra was poor, rather have Choudhury and if not silva in the Manure game. Hope we can hang on to Darnell

Not sure on the spelling question! Maddison (and most proper no.10s) have to be robust, to play effectively in that role. Strong with quick feet. They are marked men. I hope Maddison fills out abit.

Mourinho's diving cheats may exploit Benny and Johnson's pace is a good balance to Morgan's lack of it.. Edited 4 August 2018 by l444ry 2

He dives in too much and not sure he could control himself at OT. Might be a too early for Darnell, shame he didn’t get blooded last season when we were safe with nothing to play for

If Puel goes for Fuchs or some other option it would show his pre season to have been a sham.

No Gray who is linked with Valencia but surely we wouldn't sell him as it appears we're panic buying his position as it is. You answered your own question though, what if we are buying a winger cos grays leaving?

Darnells the man and Puel likes youth, but at OT v United he may go with Benny for experience and wouldn't blame him. 2

I don’t think Puel will stick Fuchs in there, he’s more meticulous then impetuous (or boring and unimaginative, as some on this forum would say), so can’t imagine him going left field like that. It’ll be YB29 I think, he could surprise us!
