I think his biggest problem is that everyone is expecting him to be Mahrez.

I think some of the bashing is a little OTT, I certainly don't think he's a world beater, but he's not as bad as some make out. He's not and never will be Mahrez.

Still don't think he was a needed signing at all though.

Ghezzal and Diabetes are two of the most bewildering signings in recent years.

I don’t get them at all

People are in need of a scapegoat. An easy one. They already forgot that he wasn't the problem tonight and Vardy had a stinker.

I don’t think he is good enough for this league, not quick in thought and seems to lose the ball far to easy, handing back possession when in a good area

The guy has made about 5 appearances for us and people were already doubting him before he even put on the shirt. Give him a chance.

If say the next game he came on and played outstanding people on here would forget about tonight and be licking his arse.

Get a grip.

Cruyff turning it out of the pitch in our own right back area is a good start

Also shooting at the corner flag. Has he been taking tips from Huth.

He makes even the relatively routine skills of a professional footballer look difficult.

If that isn't a sign of his inability to play at this level, I don't know what is.

He just doesn't have it whatever your definition of "it" is.

The thing about him is that he doesn’t have pace so he needs to either really do the defender to get past him or he needs someone to double up with. He’s not gonna get that with Amartey and he’s not gonna get any quicker....another waste of money.

Some of the comments are ridiculously harsh, but it’s what happens when a scapegoat is required, and when people have a pre-meditated view of a player. Yes he was poor, but since he’s signed he’s done okay, nothing more, nothing less. On a wider scale he’s symptomatic of several players we’ve got, too easy to knock off the ball and a ‘nice’ player. We need to be tougher physically and mentally.

I really don’t buy into the general consensus that our recruitment has been great in recent seasons.

This summer:

- We signed a RB who isn’t good enough defensively to play RB

- We signed 3 CB’s.. just why?

- Ghezzal :nigel:

From 17/18 the only real success is Maguire.

Am surprised that Iborra hasn't featured much, looked fine in general last season.

Hope Silva isn't written off already..

Zero pace is a major concern. To play out wide in the prem without pace you need to be incredibly skilful or an exceptional passer/crosser/finisher.  He doesn't seem to have any class attribute that makes up for the snail pace. That's not jumping on the band wagon, and yes it's still early days, but surely we could have got better in the summer.

Don't forget 12.5M for a goalkeeper who was about 4th choice at Liverpool.
