He's terrible, lightweight, loses possesion, doesnt challenge, makes bad decisions.... doesnt even look slighly like a PL player, i have no doubt he would make a good F2 freestyler! but i think he will last as long as Leicester as Puel does, seen nothing at all since day one from him

So disappointing they weren't prepared to show more faith and belief in Barnes.

Not saying this with the benefit of hindsight or the fact he is doing so well in the Championship but as you rightly say, Ghezzai is 26 years old with little room for improvement where as Barnes is only just turned 20 wit lots of potential for improvement....as was the case when they showed faith and stuck with Ben Chilwell while he was on a steep learning curve

I disagree about Barnes as I think a full season playing week in week out in the Championship is best for him. Puel brought him back earlier this year and he didn't set the world alight.

Before we signed Ghezzal I had hoped to give our young talented players in Gray, Iheanacho and Maddison plenty of game time and hoped at least two of the three would come of age. Then we had the reliability of Albrighton who would rotate with them. We also had Okazaki and Diabate who could support and Ricardo and Chilwell could play there if need be.

I didn't see the point in bringing someone who wasn't better than what we already had. Ghezzal like the Ward signing had "waste of money" written all over them. Two players in their mid 20's for £25m who at first glance never looked like being first choice players. If I owned the club I'd be telling the people who want these type of signings that their jobs are under threat if these signings bomb. It's all so predictable which is the thing that really pisses me off.

He might turn out to be one of our worst signings ever. But he’s only played a handful of times for crying out loud, it’s just ridiculous to be judging & condemning him already!

I’ve seen occasional flashes of potential & Maddison reckons he’s incredibly skilful in training but whether he can adapt to the team & the Premier League & grow into the player we all want him to be we are very unlikely to see in the short term. And the same can be said for many of our other players too. Unfortunately many here will find that hard to tolerate & will be frustrated by it but I believe that is the way we are going about building the future until we can attract the very top talent.

The 'how' is easy to explain. We offered Monaco lots of lovely lolly and they bit our hand off. The 'why' is much more difficult to fathom.

What did we pay for Ghezzal?

Typical foxestalk. One game always enough to judge lol

I’ve seen you post a few of these “typical foxes talk” type posts.

I knew a play who was skilful as **** in training had the lot. When it came to a match he was shocking and spent most his time on the bench.

There's some quality in Ghezzal based on the goal against Fleetwood, I'm just not sure he's made for this league.

Most of the time that I've seen him play (when he does play), he's been pretty much anonymous, lightweight and incapable of influencing a game.

Gets shoved off the ball easily, is very one-footed and neither overly skilled nor fast.

Time will tell. I just hope he'll improve his game and become a little bit more athletic.

Deary me.... how did we buy him?

Time and time again you have to question our recruitment. How the hell can they sign players of the obvious quality such as Maguire, Maddison and maybe Ricardo, then get it so wrong with the him. Panic buy I think.

So you're saying that despite his lack of athleticism, lack of physicality, lack of pace, lack of quality, lack of character and lack of ability with both feet....he's decent lol

Seriously ...... how many overseas players hit the ground running in this league ......... the boy is being eased in by the manager in a foreign land  ....... give him a bloody chance!

He was obviously poor when he came on the other night but to be honest it was not the easiest time to join the game as a winger, was it? Arsenal were 3-1 up and dominating possession, our only striker was clearly unfit and hence virtually immobile, giving the wide players limited passing options, and we finished the last 5-10 minutes with only 10 men after said striker had to go off. Ghezzal strikes me as a confidence player and if we start getting on his back his form will just get worse and worse. Let's give him a bit more time.

Ghezzal was a bad purchase of our scouts.

LCFC has to buy HAKIM ZIYECH from Ajax Amsterdam - the real copy of Riyad Mahrez

Monday was the night from hell for rachid. After getting back what we paid for on musa id hate for us to be back getting a bad deal again.

As said above though the battle was already lost. Unlikely he will play at the weekend but has a chance to prove himself against the saints.

It wasn't good for him on Monday but not many covered themselves in glory either. He needs to get over it and up his work rate.

We have absolutely no chance of signing him.

I think he was a stop-gap signing. I'd like to hope that we were chasing someone in the summer, and they weren't available or weren't keen to join us at that point. I see us making a couple of upgrade signings.

I'm not sure how Harvey Barnes' fits into the equation long term, but as he's likely to stay at West Brom til the end of the season. So maybe we've put a pin that position for the minute?

Ghezzal needs time to acclimatise and remain calm. He looks nervous at times and tries to overcomplicate things, cutting in and trying to take on more than he can handle, when taking it to the byline and crossing it would be a better option.

Saying all that there were rumours that Victor Moses was unhappy with lack of game time at Chelsea. Not sure he'd ever come to us or if we've got someone significant we're working on. But him and Ricardo? Yes please.
