Why did we never play him and Kante together

not enough room on a football pitch for them both to cover

Good news on a long contract for a top player and a young player to. At least it means it'll take top money to buy him out of the contract should any of the usual poacher clubs come calling. Hopefully he can improve his ball control and passing accuracy in that time to surpass one of old boys, Ngolo Kante as the best central midfield player in the league.

Upon signing the new deal, Ndidi said : "I'm very happy to sign this contract with Leicester City. I have enjoyed every moment of my time with the football club, so I'm thrilled to be here for six more years.

"Together with my team-mates and our wonderful supporters, I hope we can look forward to many more fantastic moments."

Ndidi, Maddison, Chilwell, Iheanacho, Benkovic, Soyuncu, Choudhury, Gray and Barnes is comfortably 250/300m in kids younger than 22.

We've never had a pool of young players even remotely as good as that.

You won’t win anything with kids ?

Bloody brilliant bit of news. Arguably the second best DM in the league after Kante, he's 22, and he's going to potentially spend at least half his career with us. What a statement of intent that is.

He's not 22 until December.... Unreal!

Middlesbrough, that can’t be serious they had zero chance of getting him before he signed lol ? at least I got a good laugh today.

Maybe we should have gone in for Modric

Lucky we got him to sign a new contract when we did!

Middlesbrough should have made a move for Leicester City’s Ndidi

Middlesbrough should have tried to land Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi before the Nigerian international signed a new six-year contract.

Tony Pulis’s hunt for a defensive midfielder continues, but the Boro boss only has 11 days to bring in new players on loan.

Everton’s Muhamed Besic has been heavily linked with the Championship club, but so far nothing concrete has developed.

At the weekend, Leicester’s official website confirmed that Ndidi has committed his future to the Foxes, but Boro should have been keeping a close eye on the midfielder.

A loan possibility is still viable, but it is hugely unlikely that the Premier League club would entertain an arrangement after offering Ndidi a new contract.

The 21-year-old, who is valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, goes under the radar for the most part in the top flight.

Ndidi’s performances do not always fill column inches, but he is an important part of Leicester’s team.

The former Genk player, who signed for the Foxes in January last year, is a rock in the middle of the park and keeps Leicester ticking.

Boro could do with a player that carries those attributes, and it would have been worth trying to strike a deal before Ndidi put pen to paper at Leicester.

A permanent transfer may not have been the most appealing for the player given that he would have to drop down a tier, but it would have been worth a conversation.

I'd go with that provided that Pulis can persuade Chelsea to loan N'golo back to us.

Yeah, I mean he's been first choice CM since arriving 18 months ago, why wouldn't we loan him to the division below lol

Not only first choice but one of our best players. Stupid that anyone would seriously believe it was a possibility

These type of articles will get the clicks in from Leicester fans and Middleborough fans alike. "Transfer Tavern" is the same kind of rag website.
