Apologies if this is already a topic. I was at the southampton game yesterday and just before kick off someone behind me shouted and told morgan to fvck off. I just find this completely ludicrious. This is the guy who captained us to our greatest success - winning the pl. I'll admit I'm not morgans biggest fan but the guy deserves better than prats like the so-called fan yesterday. The game hadn't even started and morgans getting stick. Some of our fans really do have short term memories.

And these sort of reports remind me of why I’m not interested in going to matches week in week out.

Not a problem unique to us but we're one of the worst for it. The Amount of abuse that Morgan, Simpson and Schmeichel sometimes gets is astonishing. As title winners it doesn't mean they're exempt from criticism but you'd think the thought would cross the minds of our fans before getting on their backs. The title win has spoiled us.

Their is a few of our fanbase that had not seen us in L1.......To be honest i feel sorry for them.....never got the buzz from Southend away!And i'm not a better fan than anybody else!

A lot of 'fans' I think actually prefer to see some players fail rather than do well.

I changed seats a couple of years ago as the couple behind us would constantly and very vocally slate Mahrez & Schlupp and hardly put in a clap if they did something positive. 

By all means criticise when appropiate, but people seem to have personal hatred towards some players for no reason at all.

Had the same problem. A couple of people in front of me constantly criticising Gray, including "get him off" on the half hour mark. Did they praise him for scoring? No.

Then they wonder why players lack confidence to take opposition players on.

There was a similar thread on this the other week.

Whilst telling him to "Fuck off" is out of order and I don't condone it people are getting frustrated.

That said no matter how many people try and claim it Morgan doesn't pick the team, he doesn't pick himself and i'm fairly sure he doesn't demand to be picked, my frustrations are with Puel picking him, there were other options last season and there are certainly other options this season.

From the above thread this is where I stand on the situation.

Everyone is beating around the bush here, so I'll say it they are complete and utter prats!!!

 

They are never happier than when there on someone back, let’s all have a go at Kingy, no now its Simpson...wait how about Wes or even Kasber! ( FFS )

 

They get me so mad sometimes these people are morons, true supporters should always cheer, sing and encourage their players.

The worrying thing is he's not actually playing badly frankly he seems the same to me as he was when we won the league he has certain strengths our other CBs don't have but some obvious weeknesses that are a bit more exposed now we don't have Kante etc. which apllies to many of our player's. They all have weaknesses and all make mistakes. My criticisms tend to be when they're  not appearing to give of their best something you can definitely never accuse Morgan of.

It's just terrible this is. One minute cheered the next jeered by people who at best just can't be very bright. Two things are certain about most players,  they can have good games and bad and as they get older they might slow down a bit. But, if a manager picks them and they are giving of their best then such vilification is surely unjustifiable. 

Even yesterday, despite a good away win there's the usual whining about Puel's team selection with the armchair experts, some of them differing from each other, inferring a certain amount of incompetence compared to their sage like insight (and I don't mean the normal discussion that we all might have). Yet, these warriors of the keyboard have no idea why Puel picked who he did, despite him working with the players all week and having insight and a more professionally informed knowledge of the oposition. I'm sure for example he must have considered Pereira at right back and not on the wing for example, but there was clearly a reason for him to use Armarty there. There are several reaons and many of which we wouldn't even be aware of. He has to be trusted to do his job as he sees fit and our players, when giving of their best in a new system deserve our support. Premiership champions we no longer are, it's long gone and rebuild time.

I don't really condone violence but you deffo should have flying headbutted him.

100% this. My gf asked me why I was annoyed at Wes playing and I had to explain that it's nothing against him. He's a legend in my eyes, always will be... I just don't want his legacy to be tarnished because the manager is making the wrong calls. 

Wes is going to be a fantastic back up for those rainy days but his best days are gone and we need to be moving forward now.

It’s life, a great deal of people love to see people fail unfortunately. For some reason it is ingrained in a good proportion of people to want to see successful people fall.

Played well yesterday. The reason he was picked was because Puel thought he could do a better job than Evans on this particular day.

So I find it difficult that anyone wouldn’t want to support the player that those who in the know (the manager) believed was the best option for the team yesterday.

Imagine travelling to Southampton with all the investment in time and money in order to abuse a club legend . Something definitely missing from his life

So he is a legend, and he is playing well, despite us buying a replacement for him.

I just don’t get why anyone would want to knock him
