Just questions as I don’t know.

Does homegrown come on top of this? As in can we play Chouldry ?

Also, if homegrown is additional and Chouldry and co can play, then King was homegrown so could he still feature as a homegrown player?

Homegrown is not additional. Only U21s (1st Jan 1997) are additional. Chilwell is about a week too old so has to take up a space. Gray, Ndidi, Kelechi, Maddison, Diabate etc all too old as well so take up spaces. We can play Choudhury as additional because he's 20, nothing to do with being homegrown.

My understanding is that anyone under 21 doesn't have to be included in the 25 man squad, but can still be played. We were in a really strong position before with Gray, Chilwell and Ndidi and I think Kelechi all young enough not to be able to counted, but of course featuring heavily in the first team.

Not until you look at the squad, I personally feel we are to light in the striker department.

Injuries to nacho and vardy at the same time, who’s our striker who will score goals.

Okazaki is a work horse, but won’t get you many goals, gray is not a striker.

Not many would agree, probably the player himself, as he’d want regular football, but I think slimani would have done a job in the new style, and offered something different, we throw crosses into the box when chasing a game, but nacho or vardy are not a major threat in the air.

If everyone’s fit, still a good 20 or so to pick from, so still think we will do ok, and a few ins and outs in jan, potential to finish higher than last season

Why on earth would anyone have James over King? Essentially a 24 man squad.

Not knowing the extent of his injury and prognosis of a full recovery, I feel if fully fit, Puel would choose to play him over King, Iborra and Silva.

The same applies to pretty much every team in the league though. Morata and Giroud at Chelsea, Kane and Llorente at Spurs, Aguero and Jesus at City, Aubameyang and Lacazette at Arsenal. With pretty much every team playing with one striker, nobody's keeping a quality striker as third choice.

The real problem is that, unlike those teams, we don't have wingers or midfielders who can contribute goals reliably when the forwards aren't firing. Hopefully Maddison, Ghezzal, Gray etc. can step up to the mark.

I think you're right regarding Slimani but it's possibly a similar situation to Kane at Spurs, if fit, Kane or Vardy play and any back up striker has to wait for an injury or a ban. At Slimani's age you can't really blame him wanting to leave. On rumours regarding his temperament or other rumours I have no personal knowledge.

Well, regarding James being included it's not that surprising when Puel gave the impression last week in the press conference that James isn't ready yet but will be back in the next few weeks. I'm assuming he is trusting the player will not get re-injured and thinks a fit James is more of an asset than King.

We are only four games into the season and all of those you mention have scored...

Didn't realise Wilfred wasn't actually Wilfs first name

But Wilfred is actually his 'first' name...

In Nigeria, the Baptismal/Christian name is deemed the official or first name (except for those Christians who instead choose to have several indigenous names and no Anglicized names).

Just got a feeling that we may strengthen in this area in January, maybe a young striker playing for some club in Belgium

Contribute goals reliably i.e. score regularly throughout the season. Not a criticism of their contributions thus far

Feel very sad for King. He's not a Premier League player but equally I'd be happy enough sticking him in briefly. Feels disrespectful to not even have him in the squad.

Being in the squad is based on performance not feelings. Thank god some here aren't running the club.

if its a choice between either a seemingly forever injured Matty James or Andy King the spot should have gone to King, if for no other reason than he will actually be fit to play if needed

After only half a season there when Pearson is fighting for his job would take the piss. Can't say I wouldn't like him here though. Why we didn't just pay the fee when he became a free agent I don't know - it's not like we're skint.
