Only the ‘modern day’ football fan can ever be critical of and sarcastic toward Andy King

He’s a pleasant young man...I’ve met him. Very humble, nicely spoken.. a good lad

I believe our rise back to stardom actually began with Andy King and Matt Fryatt particularly, when they both owned League 1.

That was the attacking Andy King we came to know and love. Those last second sprints into the box to become a true goal scoring midfielder.

Despite being used as a ‘squad player’ by successive managers, as far as we know King has never once moaned, complained or handed in a transfer request.

He’s always been there to step in when required and has done so admirably on many many occasions.

Only the most blinkered of our ‘faithful’ fans could hold King in disregard. He’s been Leicester through and through and one player I’ll certainly never forget when I get too old to remember where I put my false teeth .

A legend..

If Man Utd came in for King now he would be gone in a second. Loyalty talk is laughable.

Im totally indifferent about King.

He's never moaned because

a) the club is playing at a much higher level the his ability. If he moaned he would be shipped out to Derby or something. Just like Nugent and others were moved on. King knows he's punching well above his abilities here.

b) he's earning much more here than he ever would anywhere else.

Does make me laugh many of the same people crying about King are in every thread absolutely slating Morgan.

If Benalouane was in the 25 man squad ahead of Morgan, I think the general consensus would be dismay.

It's quite alarming nobody has seriously moved for King. He's going to be on mega money for what his worth is that's for sure.

Benny by better than Morgan and King isn't better than James, so not quite the same.

Spot on Col.

From league 1 to the Prem title & the rollercoaster in between he’s been there every step of the way. An integral part of the journey both on & off the pitch. A true club legend.

....he’s never moaned because he’s the absolute model pro & would never do anything that would have a negative effect on the club or the dressing room.

He’s dedicated his whole career to us despite having many opportunities over the yrs to cash in & move on especially during our dark days in league 1 & Championship.

For his service & loyalty alone he deserves every single penny he’s getting from us!

A true pro we should have done something special for him.

Even if Puel does not rate Kingy why put James in when injured and leave Kingy out when fit?

Anyone with any common sense (which leaves Puel out) would have put Kingy in until January Transfer window giving James time to get fit again then swapped them over if necessary.

I havent written anything for a while, so I thought I'd pay tribute to the great man.

Please give it a read if you get a minute :)

Nice work!  Glad for the chance to read it.

You're hardly the only one "sentimentally begrudging" the inevitability of this moment.

He didn’t even get on the pitch in their final game until 72 mins or complete 90 in the previous 2. Odd for their best midfielder at the time

Like I said, I was just going by what the fans said – not by where or when the manager decided to play him.

If you read the Swansea forum at the time, there were plenty of people commenting how he was "showing more guts and effort than our own players" and how he was better than what they had – or words to that effect.

Claude Puel on leaving Andy King out of his Leicester City squad
Puel full of praise for 'gentleman' King after decision to leave him out of his squad.

Claude Puel has spoken of the difficult decision to leave Leicester City stalwart Andy King out of his Premier League squad.

The Wales international, who has won the League One, Championship and Premier League titles with City , has not been included in the 25-man squad for the league campaign, but Puel praised his professionalism and promised to help him through a difficult time.

“The first thing to say is it was extremely difficult to take this decision because he was a valuable player for the squad and all the squad like him,” said Puel.

“He gave fantastic service for this club and I have massive respect for him.

“I had to take this decision and we had just 25 players possible and we have a strong squad with a lot of players, but he continues to train with his team-mates with a good mentality and he is a professional, a fantastic professional, and gentleman.

“We will try to manage this difficult situation together.

"It was a possibility [that he could go out on loan] but at the end he remained with us until the next window and we will see.”

I find it simply bizarre that Matty James, who had surgery just this Wednesday, has been named in the squad, over King. No chance James will feature this side of Xmas, so why not put King in instead of James?

I like both players btw, but we are well stocked in that area.

He's had about 4 serious injuries now. Baffling how he got that new deal last summer, it's borderline fraud.

Fraud lol lol lol the club offered him a contract and he signed it. Just as you would if your boss offered you a pay rise after being off sick.

Really is a joke people blaming the player for getting a new contract. If you don't like it blame the idiots that offered it to him.

Didn't someone say Matty James was very well respected by all the staff and players. Maybe he offers something King doesn't even with a persistent injury.
