Wolves away Carabao Cup 0-0 (City win 3-1 on pens) Post Match

Recommended Posts

Thought the game was open and for both sides to take the win.

Our back four gave me a couple of really good scares, Ricardo Pereira proving once again that he's in dire need of beefing up and doing some extra courses on defensive work. Bit of a liability when the opposition attacks.

Morgan against Traoré... *chuckles*

Couple of our fringe players proven they are a worthwile alternative, Iborra in particular.

Ward obviously MOTM.

Just hope Gray is ok and it's not as serious as one may think.

Without Maddison this team has no creativity. Maddison + Iheanacho + Vardy is a must for attacking impetus.

Ricardo - great winger, worst defender I have ever seen, absolute crap positioning.

Ghezzal - torrid. From Mahrez to this?

Ward no 1 through and through by unanimous vote.

The only other players that did good was the CB pairng, especially Morgan was superb today (for all his haters). Oh, and Iborra was above average.

Not sure what to make of tonight!

We've clearly got a talented squad of players but their decision making leaves a lot to be desired sometimes.

Seem to be the model of inconsistency atm but hopefully we'll keep improving. Delighted to go through and Ward is a hero.

Wish we'd keep hold of the fvckin ball better though!

That's a good summary of the evening. Let's be honest there is a reason why most of these players aren't in the first team and it was there for all to see. Did anyone really make a claim for a first team place? Danny Ward maybe, but he's not coming in ahead of Kasper. Fuchs was decent too but again he's not starting ahead of Chilwell. Iborra was good but should have scored in regular time.

No doubt Puel will say this after the game, but it's great that our second string team plays in the same way as our first team. They might not be as good, but it's quite impressive on the face of it and though they might not get into the first team, lots of players will do a decent to good job for us when called upon, which we will need during the festive period. Last season Puel started very well, but we started nosediving around Christmas where our squad got really stretched. We should be better this time round you would think.
