Puel lost that for us tonight. We need a manager capable of picking a team of our best players. Ghezzal? Really?

This thread just became entirely irrelevant for the moment.

Leicester and Spurs are the only 2 teams to score in every PL game this season so far, so that's a good record for the team.

This really isn’t the time

Vichai loved his footy. That is why he was at the stadium last night, to evaluate himself how we stand after 10 matches.

Of course am gutted and shocked at the tragic accident, but we can respect his memory by following our team, that is where he lives on.

Perhaps not right now though eh? Not really the time is it, most people are gonna struggle to really care for a few days. Personally my opinion anyway, if a few people do want to talk about football I guess it’s up to them but I wouldn’t really expect much in response other than people questioning the timing of it so what’s the point

I thought Gray did ok when he came on today. I dont know what to make of Nacho though, he has offered very little so far.

.... he is never going to give us the fire power that we need playing in that position in this formation . He is a secondary striker, he needs someone else around him. He is also not a 10, when he is placed in that position he is not playing as a 10, this is just because of the formation that Puel insist on playing. If we are waiting for Nacho to become the player we all think he could be, then we have to change the formation, and that should not result in Maddison playing on the wing.!!

A fix for this could be 3- 4-1-2, if we had a fit Drinkwater or Shelvey in midfield alongside Ndidi would help Maddison and allow him to play people in and not have the weight of sole creator.

... Not trying to be insensitive, we either close all the threads for the time being or perhaps we should stop posting.

Might be best just to take a break!

Personally I feel it's irrelevant right now , and I don't care to comment on the game .

but if people want to speak about football and the match then that's up to them. It doesn't make them a bad person .

Some people may want to discuss the “on pitch” affairs, as a form of distraction to the devastating events off it. I have no issues with this, as everyone grieves differently.

Just because everyone is mourning the loss of the chairman doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't reflect on our season so far simultaneously.

But Saturday's events are the talk of the town obviously and have put things into perspective again, so the sportive side of it all and its importance have somewhat faded.

People need to get off their high horses and quit the circle jerk.

Nobody is taking this lightly, everyone is grieving and processing in their own way, if some need to distract themselves talking about the football then let them do it.

There's nothing worse at times like these than self righteous people telling everyone how they're supposed to be reacting.

I'm sure all of you mean well but remember you're ultimately being no more insensitive than the accusations you're throwing around.

Let people deal with this however they want, even if that's moaning about Claude Puel. A bit of normalcy really can't hurt anyone right now. If you don't want to participate, don't read these threads. But back off telling other people not to.

I posted Saturday at 4pm EST, which is essentially as soon as it happened. Give me a break. I didn’t tell anyone what to say or think. I even said “for the moment”

There is no point changing the manager unless we can get someone clearly better. Most management changes bring only a short term improvement and often a deterioration. Puel is not bad enough to sack but i would certainly think if we don't finish in number seven or eight spot then maybe if someone clearly good is available then go for it but i see little point in not giving Puel most of the rest of the season. Who are we going to get? I can't think of anyone realistically available who is clearly superior to Puel. Personally speaking i was very impressed with Soyuncu's opening match. Nothing spectacular but clearly intelligent, smart enough to listen to McGuire for guidance. On the small side and not super fast but i thought a real tryer and I think he could do very well. Some of his more ambitious passes were excellent.

Vardy is a good player but now we play higher up the pitch and have more possession (which is good) he's being misused. Like Michael Owen he's difficult to get the ball to in a position where he can use his pace. We really need a Pirlo ,Messi or Iniesta to find the pass that puts Vardy in and we ain't going to get one of those. A good test for Puel is how well he solves this problem. My opinion is that playing Vardy as an attacking midfielder might solve the problem. If Vardy accepted it and realised it might extend his career in the top flight when his pace begins to go. it might work. He's too good to let go but not quite good enough to be an exceptional striker in a team with more possession. Southgate did n't solve the problem either. As for the rest of the team they are of a good average standard and should achieve 7th or 8th spot. Delighted as I was with the 2015-6 season I've never worked out , or found anyone else ,who knew how we did it. The best answer I've had was from a guy I sat next to at the WH match who said "Chemistry, everything worked well.'

Well IMO this side is better than the 2015-2016 team and with better reserves, although Mahrez and Konte were big losses . Why can't we do it again.? Well we can,  but Puel has to believe it and we'll know by the end of the season whether he believes it. At the moment he looks like a competent manager who'll keep us in the Premier league. That's worth quite a lot and will do for now , but next season with the players we have we should be aiming for a top 5 spot, minimum. If Puel can't deliver that then look for someone who can, but leace it until early next season.

Some great passing football at times.

Infuriating at others.

To many sideways passes especially around edge of opposition box, when a more direct route might yield an attempt on goal.

Basically we are not clinical around the box and trying to walk the ball in it seems. Almost Arsenal like looking for the perfect team goal. Players not prepared to shoot unless the crowd panics them with "shoooooooooot" and that's the time they probably shouldnt.

Could do a lot better, but also could be a lot worse. We should be aiming for the cusp of top 6-8. Relegation very unlikey, not because we are too good but because there are some real dog shit teams this season so far.

How do Leicester City's results compare with last season?

Analysis of the first 12 Premier League fixtures

Twelve games into the season and Leicester have both improved and not improved. It all depends from which angle you look at it.

Take the first 12 results at face value and City are on the up, as pointed out by this Sky Sports article.

Last year, City gained 13 points from their opening 12 fixtures, Craig Shakespeare paying the price for a poor return eight matches in.

This season, 10th-placed City are four points better off with a tally of 17. That represents the fourth-biggest hike in the division, behind Liverpool (+8), Everton and Bournemouth (both +7).

City have also scored one more and conceded two fewer than at this stage last term.

After all, Shakespeare was handed a nightmare start by the fixture computer, City facing four of the big six before the end of September. Then Claude Puel took on runaway leaders Manchester City in one of his first outings. City lost all five.

This term, it’s been noticeably less difficult, and have only played three of those top sides: Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, again losing each one, perhaps unfortunately in some cases.

So, how do City compare if the results are analysed on a like-for-like basis? For example, Leicester beat Everton 2-0 last season, but lost 2-1 this time around. And while they were defeated at home by West Ham in 2017-18, they drew with the Hammers last month.

Trade 18th-placed Swansea for Championship winners Wolves, and 19th-placed Stoke for second-tier runners-up Cardiff, and it turns out Leicester are a point worse off this campaign.

They are also down four goals, although they have conceded one fewer.

Of course, there are plenty of mitigating circumstances.

Firstly, Leicester sold their best player in the summer and while James Maddison has made a superb start to life at the club, he has some way to go to match Riyad Mahrez.

And then there’s the tragic events at the end of October. Without jet lag from their trip to Thailand or the emotional exhaustion brought on by Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s death, who knows if City would have beaten Burnley.

One thing is for certain, it’s going to be a close-run thing between last season and this season.
