I was shocked yesterday and today have tried distracting myself all day. We as fans have been so fortunate since he came to the club. Without him we'd be at best an average championship club. Not just the way he has supported us financially but all the little things like the free drinks or season tickets etc. Unbelievable when you compare to other owners and chairman else where. Not one bad word is ever said about them.

 

I just hope everyone to do with the owners know how much we as fans have appreciated them.

 

At Anfield Boxing Day 2015 me and my cousin were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, as he was approaching the stadium. Not surrounded by security or anyone but family and friends he was happy enough to have a photo taken with us. I didn't realise it at the time but it is something now I'll remember and cherish forever. A real gentleman.

I don’t think anyone expects any other. It’s already been unofficially confirmed albeit through hear say. But let’s not forget that the club in this instance is the least important. The families and loved ones need to be allowed time before its rolled out for all to see.

I’d think so, I went first thing this morning to lay a shirt and some candles, went back tonight to relight them and they were making the area bigger with the fencing.

 

Fans coming and going all the time, not everyone can get down today.

 

A very harrowing experience when you think what we were doing there just over 2 years ago.

I'm trying not to be too emotional about this, but it has really affected me today. The goodwill messages from everyone are amazing, and the warmth which we can now see that everyone - even those not connected with Leicester - feel towards Vichai makes the loss even more difficult to deal with.

 

I have no idea how the next couple of weeks will pan out but it is sure going to be emotional at the next home game.

Not at all. Its very complex due to his family being in Thailand and the sensitivity of it with the King Power brand etc. It is not the club or the police's place to make an announcement without the consent of his family.

Popped back to apologise for comments posted earlier. I believe what I wrote but the timing was insensitive and I’m sorry if that exacerbated anybody’s pain. I hadn’t appreciated that because I don’t feel the need to grieve (although clearly I’m saddened), others wouldn’t be feeling the impact of the accident more acutely than I.

 

So it is clear; I do appreciate that Vichai has been an excellent owner and am respectful of the good he did for the city. Most importantly he was a member of a family which has lost somebody they will have dearly loved. That’s where our thoughts should be this evening. The whole thing is incredibly sad and when the time comes I will show my respect at the club as warranted.

 

I would plead though that others understand that not feeling as raw as some or having different views on what sort of tribute should eventually be paid doesn’t mean that one doesn’t care or make one inhuman. Just a reflection of our differences. Though I acknowledge that today wasn’t the time to get into any of that.

 

The beauty of football is that those differences generally don’t matter. I sit and chat every fortnight or so with people I have known for years from the football but whose names I will never know. They may be rich or poor, good or bad, right or left. In that stadium it doesn’t matter, at least not for ninety minutes. The game is a great equaliser.

 

Perhaps in that context the most fitting tribute to Vichai is his impact, that of a billionaire whose life was a million miles away from that which most of us will ever experience, was able to cross social and cultureal boundaries to become a well loved custodian of our club for reasons other than footballing success. His charitable endeavours would suggest that such feeling ran both ways.
